Thanks for that Diego. I hadn't heard that the large letters/numbers were a
temporary feature. I'd still like to see photo though. Even Bishop's own
book "Winged Warfare" doesn't show this scheme.

Yep, I know the cone de penetration was stationary; it was bolted to the end
of the fixed crankshaft and was usually removed pretty quickly. I have seen
his aircraft modelled with one though (and if I recall Hobbycraft has it the
box art for their 1/32nd version in Bishop's markings in spite of the fact
that there isn't one in the kit) but again, have never seen a pic of his
aircraft with one.
