Thanks. I see you are another rig-pig. I currently am in Angola, but will be home in about a week, then I will start with what I have and order the windsock datafile.
I have quite a few photographs of the aircraft, but being period shots tend to be blurred or have poor detail. No matter.
After that it will be the Vimy "Silver Queen" or the BE2e that van Ryneveld flew to South Africa when starting the South African Airforce. Hmmm, a 1/24 Vimy. That would be interesting.

Hei,
I am glad to see a permanent African list presence, so far has the list not
been represented on the continent except when I have been working there.
Think that I once visited Muizenberg while having a few days off in Cape
Town after working for SASOL.
Regards the DH 6 do I think there was an article with drawings in a British
modelling magazine a number of years ago, my best guess is Scale Models
International back in the days when they had articles worth reading. It had
some drawings and colour profiles of the aircraft being used for training
and coastal patrols. I think there are list members who keep an index of
magazines who might be able to help us with which issue - I have most SMI
issues from that time stored in the basement

internet. I was inspired to build the model after seeing a painting by hmmm,
his name has slipped my mind. I will have to look up his name when I get
home. Anyway, it was this painting and the fact that I live close to
Muizenberg that inspired me to build the model for display at our local
museum. I have a few photographs that I have managed to find.

were rediscovered in the loft of an upholsterers shop. I believe that the
wings will be on display at the airforce museum in Ysterplaat, but must
check up on this.
