This has happened to me too. For a long time I kept buying the Eduard kits
despite finding that I wasn't actually interested in building them. Now I
don't even buy them - probably a sign that I believe that Eduard is here to
stay and no longer needs my unwavering support!
IMO there is a spectrum of modellers with those who value process at one end
and those who value product at the other. The extremes are scratchbuilders
and die cast collectors, with all of us strung out along the line in between
(and sometimes moving to the left or right as mood takes us)
I figure that I sit closer to the scratchbuilding end, and Eduard kits are
smoothly and elegantly moving closer and closer to the ready assembled end
of the spectrum leaving me less to enjoy in each expensive box.
Which, incidentally, I don't mind since it favours the bulk of modellers who
prefer trouble free, or even effortless assembly.
