Consider how you feel about your brand new, shiny automobile.  Don't you drive just
a bit more carefully and are anxious about where you park it?  Or cringe, when some
young kid tears off in it for what they call "valet" parking?

If I had a new fancy paint job on my aircraft, I wouldn't be flying through shell
bursts and looking forward to getting it all shot up!  Of course, there are some corollary personal concerns in that regard also.  It's like asking for a bad hair day!

Of course, I'm joking.  This topic is too subjective and involves factors unrecognized
  by anyone alive.  Any analytical conclusions are meaningless unless you want to
prove the whole exercise was a waste of time.  I prefer the contemporary writings of
the pilots that were there.  True or not, they are a hell of a lot more interesting.
