Andy,
As Ray mentioned, they are kind of thick in the first place. When I
first got these bottles (thanks to ken9), they were somewhat thick-ish, but
laid down beautifully with a paint brush. (I used "bleached bone" for some
CDL inside of a cockpit, it covers beautifully, and did so with one coat.)
Right now they are a little bit thicker with age, but can still be stirred,
they are just noticeably thicker. Andy, get some of their inks. Daniel has
just given us his method, but look at some of Eric G.'s 1/72nd build pages
to see how he uses the chestnut ink in the interiors. Nice and VERY quick
IMHO.
Daniel, thanks for your advice on the inks. I think for my LeRhone
roatary I will use your method, plus what I did last time on my Oberursel.
What I did was add some watercolor pencil lead ground up and placed in a
medium of a few drops of future, and then brused on aand allowed to run.
Adrian, thanks for the heads up, I've got some 90% rubbing alcohol, and
some 40%, some 20%, and whatever percentage wine is these days, in the
kitchen cabinet. I just got in from Hobby Lobby, so I missed my chance on
some retarder. However, for the puposes of general list consumption, they
have these little wooden boxes with glass on the top and four sides, just
right for most any single-engined a/c in 1/72nd. The price is a whopping
$2.99. Pretty cheap display case if you ask me.
Warren
