Hei,

Just came across an interesting article in Jet & Prop 4/06 about Emil Meineckes
service of the Ottoman empire - some unusal German aircraft in Turkish markings.

He survived an emergency landing in the sea with Fokker E III 190/16 (F9) 
dt wearing a life jacket he had taken from an English pilot shot down earlier!

So it wasn`t just the rotary engines that were popular booty for German pilots.
