Neil,

    Dull and Clearcote are lacquer based so I would not brush them on.
Lacquer is an excellent enamel remover and plastic melter.  Brushing it on
will give you an interesting model.   And since it is lacquer based, thin it
with lacquer.

    I use both and they spray beautifully. I thin until it sprays smooth.
Light coats are best and it dries almost instantly.   As with any lacquer
products, good ventilation is required.
