It would seem entirely possible that he was still in hospital in Spring 1919. Trevor Henshaw in "The Sky their Battlefield" states that he was flying as observer to Capt AB Clark in Armstrong-Whitworth FK8 (F7458). They were in combat with 5 enemy aircraft south-east of Berclau at 12.45pm and spun down in flames. Capt Clark was killed in action.
