Colour profiles of 39 & 75 Sqn aircraft. Derived from the usual sources, with pictures (mostly) from the usual sources. Useful introduction to the subject and pitched at the right level for the casual visitor/non-specialist. One detail differs from the information given in Paul Doyle's 'Fields of the First' (strangely not included in the bibliography) Chingfliers, Chingboys and Chingford Aerodrome Leonard Davis (£4.50) A4 phototocopied, spiral bound. Seems to be a summary of the contents of the RNAS Chingford magazine, derived from a set retained by Vestry House Museum. Lots of snippets of information about those who served at Chingford, including Ivor Novello (a prop blade, reputedly from a DH6 he crashed at Chingford, is on display at the Norfolk & Suffolk Aviation Museum) Nick ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 25 Feb 2003 10:43:49 -0000 From: Nick Forder To: "Cci (E-mail)" Subject: North Weald Message-ID: <059A77A01B10D611B19C00065B19D2F33F88D6@EXCHANGE> North Weald Aviation Museum is attempting to develop its pre/WW1 display. At the moment they have some photos & illustrations of Roe's triplane, Tempest & Leefe Robinson (+ airships they brought down), 39, 44 & 75 Sqn aircraft, an original copy of 'Fighting in the Air' by Rees, a Martinsyde prop etc. Outside is a memorial to everyone who died while serving at North Weald, including members of 39 (HD) Sqn. (I can send a copy of the name etc on request). If anyone is interested in helping North Weald develop a display on WW1 Aviation in Essex during the Great War (and promote C&CI at the same time) please contact me at n.forder@msim.org.uk Further info on North weald is available at www.fly.to/northweald Many thanks Nick ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 25 Feb 2003 11:06:32 -0000 From: Nick Forder To: "Cci (E-mail)" Subject: FW: [AB-IX] AW FK8 G-EATO Message-ID: <059A77A01B10D611B19C00065B19D2F33F88DA@EXCHANGE> -----Original Message----- From: Herman Dekker [mailto:hdek@wxs.nl] Sent: 25 February 2003 11:13 To: AB-IX Subject: [AB-IX] G-EATO Hi All, On 16.6.1920 this F.K.8 made a forced landing in The Netherlands.
