Was it the same as the one there last year? I know the German vendor you mean, and he always had a great selection, but I really meant second hand kits. And he comes to the Dutch IPMS nats too, so I get another chance in November anyway. I did get another Eduard Morane L from him to replace the one I've nearly finished, and a sheet of Americal Fried. G3 decals, plus a few ot kits from elsewhere, but blew most of my money on 23 old Windsocks within 10 minutes of arriving. Thought it quite funny how lots of shops where disposing of their Revell Se5as, Sopwith Camels, and Albatros DVs. My main regret is not buying some of the Veterans 72 resins, although that table is also there every year. Just received some Aircraft of the Aces books I won in Ebay. They are the Osprey/delPrado edition! 64 pages, 12 of color plates each. It seems an abridged edition of the original Osprey editions, same sleeves - I hadn't yet an opportunity to compare with Pedro's genuine material. BUT I received "Austro-Hungarian aces of WWI - Italian front" AND "Austro-Hungarian aces of WWI - Eastern front"! (and also British and Empire, Albatros, American and Nieuport aces). The first has the same sleeve of the original; the other depicts a H-B C I flying over a Russian Lebed XII . In Osprey site only one A-H book is listed. Anybody heard of this editions? I confess I had a bad feeling before receiving the books, as delPrado is a Spanish publisher. Hopefuly they are not translations. I bought them in the Buy it Now system, no time to ask and no pictures in the pages. The auction was located in UK, but the books came from Brussels. They costed me 4 pounds each. They are all 2001 editions, and they have addresses in UK, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa to ask for back issues (£4.95 each). I would like to hear from you, specially about the two A-H books Best regards, Carlos ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Mar 2003 16:42:49 -0000 From: "Carlos Carreira" To: Subject: Re: Osprey books Message-ID: <00d101c2f224$696f6e10$6901a8c0@duron> > Anybody heard of this editions? It's a pity, I bet few Ebay users have enough money to bid from a base of 800 dollars and get such a collection which in most cases is still available somewhere else. To me, the list is so confuse that I can barely sort out what's on sale, what's bonus and what's the usual Ebay yadda yadda. Who would risk 800 dollars -or more- in a confuse item bid? He would have done much more money selling the stash in smaller batchs and putting the rare ones (few and far between) individually, maybe he got lucky and that crazy model buyer (what's his name?) would have bought them for its weight in gold. Well, I was going to coat the "wood work" in yellow tinted future, just to see if the wood would look a bit brighter. But I had not the time to do it in time for the contest so I skipped it... I'll try it on another one. Main problem is that to get a brighter shade of wood I would probably have to use a different base coat than the one I use which is quite dark (humbrol 64).
