It is not as easy to use as Contrail plastic streamlined struts because it is brass ;-) The Strutz pack is made of various size streamlined brass wire from about 0.7 to 1.8mm thick in its larger dimension ( 3 wires per size, 200mm long), 1 streamlined aluminium (?) wire about 0.6mm thick (intended for tailplane bracing an control horns--> I never used it) and round copper wire 0.4mm thick (for various tubing). I think it is interesting to have 1 pack for some projects with long struts (There are 2 struts made with Strutz on my Georges-Lévy) and for landing gear legs (you can have the 2 legs of 1 side from the same wire filed and bent). The silicone is much more so. I bought 1 kg plus the catalyser (wich is very ver cheap) for something like 13-15 Euro IIRC. The resin I used was bought at a paint supply shop and it's nothing of that fancy 1+1 stuff. The cat is supposed to be added at 2% (volume). But I found, as Jogn Cyg had told me, that the stuff is very forgiving and a drop more or less won't really harm. It takes a lot more to cure (12-24 h) than the stuff Ross is using. BTW what's the possessive for Ross? Ross'; Rosses; Rosse's? The 2part resin is around $20 AUD. The 2 part RTV is around $50 AUD. The Silicone is good for small one sided moulds. RTV is a far better mould making medium for more complex moulds. It was a fun build and I'm really pleased with the result. I want to do more photos but there was one bummer from Model Expo... I took my 35mm camera with me with the close up lens and got a few photos of the Pfalz and other OT models but when I changed the film over the close up fitting worked loose and fell on the concrete floor. The lens glass was okay but the focus mechanism seems to be fused. A friend looked at it and it needs some serious repair. So until its fixed I can't really do any more photos. I'll see what the ones I did are like and post them if they are okay...... All the Best Neil E ------------------------------ End of WWI Digest 5082 **********************
