Scotty brought his Nieuport 28 for "show and tell" and it was very well received. (More applause than I have ever received). Rene's Tyrannosaurus Rex airbrush training monster showed much creativity. It was really great to see the enthusiasm that I once felt 40+ years ago for our hobby shared by these two. It was also wonderful to meet two very well behaved and polite youngsters. Our future is in good hands! Both junior birdmen won some future projects in our club raffle so I am looking forward to more good work. A second coat has given a much better coverage, I might get away with three coats - unlike Mr Kit, where I needed 6 coats of CDL and the same of PC-10 on my Albatros - thankfully, it's such thin paint you'd never know! Still prefer Aeromaster/Pollyscale-style acrylics for my clunky brush painting. Maybe I should get the airbrush out again...... It gives more tooth to the surface and I seem to get much better paint coverage. This works on soft plastic figures as well. Then I spray a gloss coat before decals. BTW, I too had no problem whatsoever with cutting off the struts from the sprues and cleaning them. I just exerted too much pressure on the wing while rigging. The V struts are really very fine (as they should be) next time will have to be more carefull). Got to go finish it !
