And AFAIK, the first D Va series used both printed camouflage,a s well as painted ones. And even the closest aircraft I´m aware of (the Canberra 5390/17) does not provide a clear answer, as the original reports indicate it was camouflaged in *a mix* of painted and printed systems (even though it is by now completely covered in lozenge, but only after it´s renovation)... The tail, hmm. As already explained, rudder and serial seems untouched. The difference between the fuselage and the tail could be explained with other wood grain also. Dear sir I, on behalf of my other colleagues from different organs of Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) owned parastatals decided to solicit your assistance as regards transfer of the above-mentioned amount into your bank account. This fund accrued from over invoicing of various contact awarded in my parastatal to certain Foreign Contractors sometimes ago. We, as holders of sensitive position in our various parastatals, were mandated by the Federal Government to Scrutinise all payments made to certain foreign Contractors and we discovered that some of the contracts they executed were grossly over-invoiced either by omission or commission. In the process the sum of US$27M (Twenty Seven Million US Dollars only) was found lying in the parastatal suspense account after the foreign contractors had been paid their rightful dues for executing the said contracts. We all agreed that this over-invoiced amount be transferred (for our own use) into a bank account provided by a foreign partner, because we are government workers and the Code of Conduct does not allow us to operate foreign accounts. However, we have succeeded in transferring some of this money precisely US$5.0M (Five Million US Dollars only) into a foreign account in MOROCCO (North Africa), but the provider of the account in MOROCCOis up to some mischief and refuses to comply to the earlier mutual agreement by insisting that the total amount be paid into his nominated bank account before disbursement will take effect. If for a meagre sumof US$5.0M (Five Million US Dollars only) we are not compensated, is it when the balance of US$22M (Twenty-two Million Us Dollars)is transferred that we will be sure of our full compensation? Of course, this abuse of trust and inhumanity calls for sober reflection and search for absolute trust. Thus we are seeking your unwavering assistance that the remaining amount of US$22M can be speedily processed and fully remitted into your nominated bank account. On successful remittance of the fund into your account, you will be compensated with So far, much have been said and due to our sensitive positions, we cannot afford a slip in thistransaction neither can we give out identity as regards our respective offices, but whereby cordial relationship is established, smooth operations commences, you will be furnished with details of all you deserves toknow. I am at your disposition to entertain any question from you with respect to this transaction, so contact me immediately through my e:mail for further information on the requirements and procedure forthistransaction. Please, treat with the strictest confidentiality andutmost urgency Yours faithfully, ABDUL BELLO 234-803-334-2445 ___________________________________________________ GO.com Mail Get Your Free, Private E-mail at http://mail.go.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 19 Feb 2003 11:13:55 -0500 (EST) From: Allan Wright To: wwi Subject: Spam again Message-ID: <200302191613.LAA32216@mustang.sr.unh.edu> Somehow we've been subscribed to the Nigerian financial subtrifuge hotline. Population: 120. During the German colonialist period the territory of Northern Zimmerit, as it was known at that time, produced the greatest harvest of jellybeans ever recorded. During World War One, the German officials fled to the neighboring jungles of Jujuland not to be seen again. For many years the small country was inhabited only by tribal societies, until in 1967 it was declared independent mostly because no one wanted that dirty patch of land. Well! You have to read that famous little book by J.D. Salinger "The Catcher in the Rye". I was fortunate enough to get an english edition of that strange book. Yes, it's strange, has a very different structure than other novels. I liked it, has an interesting story about a young man -Holden- in the late 50s who is expulsed form his private college and spend some time out in the city because thinks that he don't matters to his parents. He really don't know what he wants to do with his life, a very common feeling when one is 17! If you can get this book, is a must. In the same league as "The Lord of the Flies" by William Golding D. I forgot to bring the CD at work again! I'm very sorry. I'll send that FSM article to you offlist soon. Anyone else interested on reading about brass soldering? I still have to do mine (in 1/72) but I'll keep your article in my ref file. If I only could read Czech! Lubos, is there any hope that you may translate these article (this, the Pfalz, the Nieuport, the Albatros and "Napodobování drevených povrchu") for us ignorant of this language to be posted on the WW1 modelling website? The WW2 part of the museum appears to being in the process of refurbishing, so it was easier for me to concentrate on the WW1 part of the exhibitions. All WW1 aircrafts on view are displayed on the galleries, some are only bits and pieces as they are being refurbished. They are overlooking a large hall with more modern aircraft which are in the process of being covered by flaking paint as the building wasn`t in the same good shape as most of the aircraft. It is definitely a museum to visit for those interested in WW1 aircraft, some of the aircraft are unique and even if it is difficult to look into the aircraft as all of them have the front facing the visitors, they are valueable as some have not been recovered. I am quite sure at least one of the German aircraft has its original faded lozenge fabric. Even if the aircraft display is impressive, the display of artillery, uniforms and vehicles from WW1 is by far the largest I have ever seen. There are two very large rooms with what must be almost every kind of weapon fired during WW1, from small mortars to the large siege guns. It is possible to look inside both the small French tank, the Whippet and the large British male tank and take photos. The uniforms displays have even figures representing Czech, Polish, Portugese and Japanese troops. With so many photos and me leaving from Brasil on Monday, I am hoping for someone who is willing to take over the photos of guns and tanks and make them available for the list on the web with proper captions. (Bob Horton, are you familiar with the collection in Brussels?) So I hope more list members will be able to visit the museum, a basic understanding of French would probably be helpful as the captions are bi-lingual in Belgian versions of French and Dutch. I assume it is not hemp (fine or otherwise). Is it a rubber cord, or just a piece of rope?
