This, from model railroading (ballast on tracks): -make a dilute, spray bottle white glue/water mix 1:2 (?) -spray the base -add spice to taste - sprinkle your 'grass' about, thicker is better you'll knock the loose stuff off, later. -when dry (6 hrs?), fog *lightly* again with your spray bottle mix -repeat above. -dry -shake off excess should have a lawn at that point. brush & shrubs can be obtained from local flora, suitable texture and also dued and then glued in individual. low-cost, home brew, simple materials. the dye is the hardest part, really.. -Ken ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 12 Feb 2003 13:36:17 -0600 From: Ken Schmitt To: Subject: Re: real thing Message-ID: Neil, The Chia Pet Rancher mowns: > and sowed cat-grass on it. > Keeping it damp for a couple of weeks resulted in a verdant green lawn. > Looked great for a few days, and in fact more realistic later on > when it dried as a dead lawn.
