I got a few notes from some folks, so I wanted to say hi and thank you. Some of you know the love of my life works in Space Station Mission Control. I was in Houston in Dec, all over Ellington Field shooting pics and meeting folks at NASA. I stayed with my friend (I adore this woman). Her office is in the same area as the astronauts, She knows all these people. She called in tears... sucks... This is when long distance bites. I wish I was there just to hold her hand. My thoughts are also with everyone in the program who worked with the crew - this hurts hard. Today I talked to her again - her engineer hat has returned - she will go in to work with all her friends, and they will work with the guys still up on station, and help the guys on the shuttle side if they need it. They will get this right and keep moving on. And she said the support of everyone out there for everyone at NASA means a lot, it means a great deal. For those who don't follow the comic, Heart of the City follows a young girl, her exploits and her friends. The latest arc has her one friend, Dean, experimenting with aviation. He fastened wood "wings" to a baby carriage and went down a large hill. Turns out he crashes at the bottom of the hill, to which we've been thrown into a "fantasy dream". Now he's a downed allied pilot behind enemy lines in Nazi Europe. He has help from the French resistance, and this is what they stumble upon: http://www.ucomics.com/heartofthecity/2003/02/01/ What I find amazing is, even though it's a caricature, the artist (Mark Tatulli) knows his D.VIIs.
