You came in just in time to see our canadian/Latvian listee Dave Zulis participating again on this forum. Reading your question, the least I can say is that is not stupid at all, and man you have to be skilled to get good results with the Roden Fokker D.VII. The Roden decals are not very good, as people say, and sometimes it takes a bit of persuasion to conform to the surface. Perhaps you have some decal softening liquid available in you local hobbyshops? This seems to help in most cases. WW1 tyre colour was an off-white colour, sometimes almost tan or even pink. They caught dirt easily and were scuffed here and there with patches of darker colours, just watch any WW1 picture to see this effect. Terms of Reference My term of reference involves the award of contracts to multinational companies. My office is saddled with the responsibility of contract award, screening, categorization and prioritization of projects embarked upon by Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) as well as feasibility studies for selected projects and supervising the project consultants involved. A breakdown of the fiscal expenditure by this office as at the end of the last fiscal quarter of 1999 indicates that DPR paid out a whooping sum of US$736M(Seven Hundred And Thirty Six Million, United States Dollars) to successful contract beneficiaries. The DPR is now compiling beneficiaries to be paid for the first Quarter of 2003. The crux of this letter is that the finance/contract department of the DPR deliberately over -invoiced the contract value of the various contracts awarded. In the course of disbursement s, this department has been able to accumulate the sum of US$38.2M(Thirty Eight Million, two hundred Thousand U.S Dollars) as the over-invoiced sum. This money is currently in a suspense account of the DPR account with the Debt Reconciliation Committee (DRC). We now seek to process the transfer this fund officially as contract payment to you as a foreign contractor, who will be fronting for us as the beneficiary of the fund. In this way we can facilitate these funds into your nominated account for possible investment abroad. We are not allowed as a matter of government policy to operate any foreign account to transfer this fund into. However, for your involvement in assisting us with this transfer into your nominated account we have evolved a sharing formula as follows: (1) 20% for you as the foreign partner (2) 75% for I and my colleagues (3) 5% will set aside to defray all incidental expenses both Locally and Internationally during the course of this transaction. We shall be relying on your advice as regard investment of our share in any business in your country. Frankly I suspect that where there are reprints or the originals are still available the reason they go for high prices is that the bidders haven't done their research> as far as I could see on the couple I've been able to compare there's nothing worth springing for a second copy Shane ******************************** My Strine is a Toad in Disguise ******************************** _________________________________________________________________ STOP MORE SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 12 Jan 2003 21:30:19 -0800 From: Ray To: wwi@wwi-models.org Subject: Re: Question on Windsock Datafiles Message-ID: <200301122130.19626.Ray_Boorman@telus.net> Actually there are lots of things on loonebay that go for high prices, if the bidders did some research and set there high bids acordingly they wouldnt get reamed out so much. Datafiles may one day be collectable, but if you search around you can get them all. I started my collection in 97 and now have all of the datafiles and found it was easier than I thought to fill the gaps. of course I have to thank Mike Frianklin for part of that. I know some of the reprints have small changes that correct mistakes in the original prints. For our purposes whichever you can get is the best one. The other catch on ebay is the mail cost especially if you are outside the US. I got caught once where the seller wanted $10 for mail to Canada his in US price was $5. The eventual postage cost less than $5. Oh btw I'm back online with 600+ messages. All moved to the new house. We can't find a darn thing.... My room is all set up though for building models.
