(the Korean War aircraft were the whiz-bang latest-greatest when I was born. I have a theory that every boy grows up to covet the cars and planes he said he wanted to drive or fly when he grew up.) Anyway, my biggest problem with Profi- or non-Profipack kits is they almost always seem to put the markings I really want on the plane in the non-Profi kit..... This has certainly held for the 1/48th Hanriot, Pfalz DIIIa, Roland C.II, Albatros D.II, and OAW Albatros D.III.... I can see it now, the Spad XIII non-Profi will come with Guynemer's and that one with the large crowing rooster Escadrille marking. The Profipack will come with Fonck, Nungessor, and Rickenbacker, one or two others that will try to entice me into parting with more money...... .Mark. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 10 Jan 2003 20:14:06 +0000 From: xtv16@dial.pipex.com To: Subject: Re: the glue factory Message-ID: <1042229646.3e1f298e04a8c@netmail.pipex.net> Quoting Ken Schmitt : > Bucky T. & The M.G.'s sez- > > > Sorry to keep whipping this glue factory carcass, but I still say it's > the > > Eduard Camel, with which we have been tantalizingly tormented since at > LEAST > > Spring '99 or so. Well there are a lot of variations possible here and Eduard kits usually represent one type as opposed to Roden who tend to make a basic sprue and add others to accomodate as many variations as possible. Wonder if any aftermarket producers will make components to accomodate the variations in wing tips, access panels and other contractor specific differences. Those with loads of Spad schemes rattling about waiting for a more modern kit to be released will surely develop a need for such parts if they adopt a squadron of the new kits. I guess we'll have to wait to see exactly what particular Spad XIII they have chosen to release. I've no doubt I'll buy at least one or two to replace the existing Spad kits I have plans for, but frankly, I'd rather paint a one-oh-thingie canopy frame than rig a Spad wing cellule. sp ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 10 Jan 2003 14:20:27 -0600 From: "Kenneth Zelnick" To: Subject: Re: Blast from the Past Message-ID: <002f01c2b8e5$b745c620$8e01a8c0@zelnick> Welcome back, Dave!
