I think I will buy myself Roden's Albatros W4. RPM's 1/72 FT-17 arrived this week. It has quite a few more parts than the 1/76 Matchbox, and cleaning up the myriad small wheels will be a challenge, as will removing some of the smaller parts from the sprue without breaking them. I bought the Char Canon FT-17 with the Berliet turret. There are quite a few decal options (15) from WWI to captured a captured WWII German vehicle. I think, > the numerics placement will be clear, but I have no idea about the white > squares. White squares were used as marking of training units. They were placed on the fuselage just behind the cockpit. Thats general rule but I suppose on Rolands could be the same. This squares can be found on Czech Spads or early Avias. Operation units had their insignia on the squares. -- Witek Kozakiewicz ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Dec 2002 05:55:30 -0800 (PST) From: Tom Plesha To: wwi Subject: WWI Alliance Models Message-ID: <20021226135530.36080.qmail@web40304.mail.yahoo.com> Hi All- .. Even just one with a similar hobby (my wife is a needleworker and makes jewelry) can understand the 'gotta haves' and 'what do ya think of this?' questions. In the meantime, I can check these specifics... Lance >>> mark_.m@sbcglobal.net 12/24/02 02:01PM >>> Does anybody have a close up photo that shows how the control lines attached to the rudder and elevator control horns? I figure it must have been attached with some kind of bracket/hardware thingy. And did the control line have turnbuckles? First is to finish those models started last year - and year's gone by. Those models still needing to be finished (from oldest to newest): Nieuport 16 that's been supplying masters to Barry (whenever Barry gets those parts out) Toko Aviatik Berg D.I (maybe not worry about the nose errors and just finish it) Two Toko HB D.I StarStrutters (although I am not looking forward to fixing the "gun coffin" and the struts) Two Eduard Albatros D.Vs (one for the cook-up ) Amodel SPAD A.2 (this is next after I finish an off topic) Flashback 1.B1 Strutter (stalled on re-adding the stringers to the turtledeck) What I definitely will start when they arrive: Two Chroroszy Nieuports (Nie.17 and Nie.17bis, once I figure out a scheme for the bis) What I would like to start this year: Choroszy Salmson 2A.2 (still deciding on a scheme, although I'm 99.9% convinced of doing the Sal 1 scheme) However, I have a suspicion: The best laid plans of mice and men....
