The cockatoo lived in a large 3m square cage beside her house until her death and now lives on anoth or her her grandsons farm. The cockatoo never got bored so far as we knew. Every so often it'd take a holida by escaping the cage, flying onto the roof of the movie theatre (which was across the street from my Dad's shop) and pulling the lead headed roofing nails out with it's beak. It would let the nails roll clatter clatter down the corrugated iron roof into the guttering until Dad would hear, close the shop, get a ladder and come to get the darn thing down. THEN it would squawk abuse including a LOT of words my grandma never used, until it had him on the roof, and quitely and calmly jump on his shoulder and *gently* nibble his ear as he tok it home. >They can be sneaky and fly up to your shoulder and grab your ear. >I suspect they do it to get attention and they usually do Cocky is never sneaky - nor ever nips hard enough to hurt. As to the 'admonishments' from other list members - your threats & comments roll off my back as water off a duck. If I choose to take a stand on an issue am I to be relegated to the catagory of a drunken fool? For those of you that served in combat I would expect a bit of tolerance for my remarks. Those that haven't served have no idea what some of us endured. No one on this list knows me - yet I am judged. I then must assume this group is a clique tied up in 'political correctness' and not interested in sharing information with newcomers. If that is the case, I have no problem in trashing my model kits into lumps of burned, twisted humps of melted plastic unworthy of lighting a poor cigar. Should the listowners decide to ban me, so be it. I was only looking for advice in assembling two model aircraft - something for a disabled vet to pass the winter days. I've asked several questions of the group; where have you been? YOU are just as 'invisible' to me. How dare you proclaim my comment as "bad"? Because I insulted one of your 'buddies'? Because I'm new? Because I happen to love my country? I do not need a "defense attorney' to rationalize my statement. And yea, you missed my boot camp by five years -- 1969.
