You are WAY too kind! I am very proud to join this great group of eclectic, ecentric, and talented modelers! What a great place to have questions answered! I would like to clarify the data regarding future resin products. I AM working on new patterns for several different projects at the moment, including some replacement engines/motors for WWI subjects. While I do produce patterns and castings for Eagle Editions, these new products will be released under my own label, ScaleQuest, sometime in the near future. I have been looking at and planning several WWI models recently, and have noted some areas of certain kits that are rather lacking in details. What I want to do is produce "drop-in" enhancement parts to supplement some kits that need it. These parts will most likely coincide with build-ups of my own, and produced as I make parts for my own use. I am working currently on an Eduard Albatros D.V, and Roden's new Strutter kit. I have just finished re-working the wings on the Strutter kit including opening up the center (clear-view) section and adding rib details, opening up the viewing windows for the aileron cables and pulleys, adding rib tapes, and sepparating the ailerons and landing flaps from the wings. After painting, the clear cellulose sections will be added to the center of the upper wing and to the pulley inpection panels. My friends want me to cast the wing for their use in their own Strutters. What do you guys think? It could be my first release under the ScaleQuest banner. ALSO, PLEASE MAKE REQUESTS for aftermarket resin stuff! Obviosly, I cannot take on everything at once, but market research is a HUGE part of any succesful venture. I WILL need detailed info on what you folks may suggest, but I will make it worthwile to anyone suggesting subjects and providing info for future products. I would prefer if the requests came in on my private e-mail rather than "the list". It will be easier to track and save that way. Once again, thanks to you all! Since the covering used by DUKS (or is it DUX?) was different than the French, it would likely appear darker - if left natural (like the earlier Nieuports). The later ones, like the Nie.17 and Nie.24, if painted aluminum are a tougher call. Sorry I can't be of more help. Got those covered, as well as a Clerget. Re: the Clerget......I want to do the jugs sepparate from the crankcase, with detailed fittings for the pushrods. Generally, I don't care for etched pushrods, so I thought I would provide the studs for them, and the modeler will have to cut 18 little pieces of wire to fit the studs. No big deal huh? Mercedes on the way too! -----Original Message----- From: wwi@wwi-models.org [mailto:wwi@wwi-models.org]On Behalf Of Graham Hunter Sent: Monday, November 18, 2002 9:01 AM To: Multiple recipients of list Subject: [WWI] RE: Neuiport 11 at hyperscle..and some resin info Welcome to the nut house Gregg. Excellent work on the Bebe. As far as details for 48th scale goes, one word ENGINES. We still need a good Le Rhone 9J 110 hp engine and in light of what Lance discovered about the Eduard and other Mercedes D.III engines, we need that too. Just before I scanned it it fell to the floor and broke in half at the centre section but I managed to get it together again although it looked better before. Message-ID: Welcome, Gregg. They may say this is the nuthouse, but it may actually be the one place of sanity in the world. Your Nieuport is excellent, despite the self-critique you give. Now you just have to be wary and keep fingers out of the reach of recently married Argentinians with machetes..... As to resin parts - I don't care which you do (well, I do have a few favorites) just make them readily available! I think one of the most common complaints about aftermarket goods on the list is that the 'excellent [whatever] is too hard to get in [wherever]'. While the list members have helped one another with these purchases, some of the items are still a pain in the patooty to get. .Mark. ------------------------------ End of WWI Digest 4787 **********************
