I had to travel 30 clicks away to get it. :-) I need this paint so I can paint the wooden fuselage and wings. I have found I have some Polish National markings to spare so this kit will be done in that countries colours. Plus the kit decals have a set of numbers for one that was handed over to the Poles. But I have been putting fingers to plastic after being inspired by Matt and his DRI. I am working on the 1/72 Eduard Profipack one. I will post pics on my site in the next few days. Time will tell... While Gen. Shane was considering his opinion, the Commander launched an all out assault on the Fuselage Joint salient. The initial fighting was very heavy and continues at a brisk pace against holdout positions. The Commander reports that all major enemy defenses were overcome and the right and left pincers of the fuselage joint attack have successfully met at the nose. Huge quantities of card, putty and CA were expended and the battlefield looks horrible. Victory is assured as mopup operations continue. Abrasive regiments are reportedly near exhaustion, but morale remains high and repeated barrages of ever finer calibre abrasive continye to fall with effect on the righes atill held by determined but doomed enemy troops. Final victory is assured, though many battles yet lie ahead. sp ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Oct 2002 22:58:10 From: zgjs100@sina.com To: wwi@mustang.sr.unh.edu Subject: ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Oct 2002 11:06:26 -0400 From: Steven Perry To: wwi@wwi-models.org Subject: Latest Battlefield photos Message-ID: <3DA83A72.4040200@tampabay.rr.com> The latest battlefield images are posted below. We were discussing this topic some time ago. I was stating, that his Brandenburg D.I was painted in ochre ("mustard") sworls over green surfaces, like all of the sworled Albies. Some of you said, that it was ochre over CDL. After looking on the photo in the FMP book, I'm sure that there are LIGHTER sworls over DARKER background, which supports my previous opinion. One of your arguments against mine was the fact, that A/G decal sheet contains both sworls on the green bacground, and on the clear film. One of you stated that ones on the clear film it were done to use in the CDL/sworls scheme. I don't think so. I think it was done to use it on the RED Brumowski's Albatros D.III - it was one in red with "mustard" sworls. Cheers! I'll make up a listing soon. Don't do it ! I know it seems bad, right along now, but don't do it. Things might look bad, but hang in there, take a deep breath and whatever you do, don't do anything rash. There's people out there who can help with this sort of thing you know! I tried to sign on using my AOL account, but I just couldn't figure out how to shut off the MIME & HTML encoding, so I took the easy way out, signing on to t-online.de instead. I was a list member about 4-5 years ago (using AOL, LOL), and recently decided to check the list again, as I'm back into wwi modelling with a Blue Max Halberstadt and DH-2 currently on the building board. So far I have completed an Aeroclub FE2-b, an Aviatik Berg (Flashback?), Eduards Albatros CIII, Fokker EIII, Sopwith Triplane & Pup and a Siemens Schuckert DIII. Oh yes, I also built a Dragon Fokker DVIII. These are all the wwi kits I have built, so I won't bother you with the others. When I get a digital camera I'll send some pictures. So, I'll wrap up with some basic information; I'm in my early 40s, am married have one daughter of three and work as a freelance architect. Oh yes, I am also currently scratch building a new set of wings for my Eduard Hannover as the kit's wings are IMHO pretty poor, using the Harry Woodman balsa core method. As you can seen, I like to have several things on my building board as the same time. Enjoy you Sunday, I look forward to hearing from you all. ------------------------------ End of WWI Digest 4700 **********************
