I can't speak about the AH Albs as I haven't seen them, though I suspect they are the worst of the lot by virtue of being the first. The A.I and C.V kits clean up to slightly better than average limited run kits, complete various dimensional and/or shape and/or fit issues. As with all limited run offerings, they are builders kits. Great starting points for models of under-represented airplanes. If you enjoy this sort of modeling, then the A.I and the LVG will reward you with a good build once you clean it all up. OTOH, if that isn't the way you enjoy the hobby, chances are you won't enjoy these kits either. Not taking sides in the builder vs assembler debate because I practice both modes as the mood suits me. Not saying "building" makes the Hit Kits better either. Simply pointing out that the Kit Kits I have are builder's kits. I've had good luck with a certain TC's technique of flattening Future with Tamiya flat base. A basic mix of Future and MisterKit paint, with differing amounts of flattening ought to do the job. I also wonder if a dab of grey in the mix for the fabric would not come amiss. The aluminum dope seems to be more silvery on wood areas, in my opinion.
