Here are a few questions I need to answer before proceeding There are three on the upper wing, two near the wingtips and one, wider than those, on the center section. I positively know that the ones on the extremes have a pulley showing thru, but does have another pulley the one on the centre section? Seeing the pictures on the datafile, some light is showing under these tiny windows. Were these covered in transparent material both up and under? seems logical, since the upper wing could be inspected from the ground without the help of the ladder. Unfortunately the drawings show these inspection windows as fabric covered and the fuzzy pictures are inconclusive. Thanks in advance for the help, I'll be in this machhine for at least an hour more.... Very nice work Dame Karen. Back when I was struggling with whether I felt you could put enough detail on a 1/72 model to make me happy (once my skills catch up to my desires), some of Karen's work was a great influence. Her diorama using a Jordan wagon to depict a photographer taking airplane pictures was particularly effective in making the point. Her Joystick Rumpler convinced me that I really NEED one of those :-) > Also the prolific Bill Arnold, I asked Candice the same thing. Interesting and very informative! Both Ansaldo and AD engine! But there is still that unfortunate sentence: "Polish pilots were happy with their mounts, as Polish authorities decided to build the type under license." with which I strongly disagree, as license was bought months before first Italian built plane reached Poland. It was bought in serious war need, after refusal of France, UK and US to sell airplanes to Poland on decent conditions. So fact of purchasing that licence says nothing about Ansaldo plane quality. I'm not sure what happened to your msg but I don't think it made it to the conference. While some DVIIs seem to have a fairly light-colored radiator, most seem to have a 'darkish' colored radiator. I would lean towards a gunmetal color rather than black, maybe even a bit lighter. Take a look at http://www.wwi-models.org/Photos/Ger/Fok_DVII/ to give yourself some idea of the color range. At the bottom of http://www.wwi-models.org/Images/Eddy/CP/ you'll see Neil Eddy's "opinion." His fine model of Berthold's DVII might also provide inspiration. By the way, I just received the Eduards reissue their Nieuport Ni 17 kit #8023. Looks like the same masters with a new engine, decals and Express Mask. The decals are really excellent especially Lt. Maurice Boyau's Dragon.
