Message-ID: <3C92D7AE.565B5A20@earthlink.net> I'm contemplating another quixotic project and need to know where I might find a set of plans for an Alarm-class torpedo gunboat. These served as minesweepers and submarine depot ships in the war, so they are OT. Oddly enough, one (incorrcetly called a 'torpedo-ram' - which only has one funnel) is featured in Wells' original War of the Worlds story - which is highly recommended reading BTW. That's the picture sp was describing yesterday (or was it this morning?). The light could be playing tricks here. It is possible that the fabric is light colored -- even lighter than the locken. The thing is, no one has come up with a source (other than box art) that says the locken were painted on the star strutter over green paint. We do have one person (O'Conner) who says the mustard locken were painted over CDL. I haven't decided yet, but I'll be thinking about it as I watch Shamu swim, tour the Alamo, climb Enchanted Rock and explore the Cave With No Name on my vacation next week. This will be my last post until 3/22. I guess y'all will have to wait to see what I do when I send in the photos for posting next month. I plan on building it using the kit decals for a machine flown by Escadrille 26, by Captain Sieyes de Veynes. According to the kit instructions it's a camouflaged machine using two shades of green, over aluminum doped undersurfaces and clear doped linen. Anyone care to comment on the validity of that scheme, and also what colors are close that I could use? Sorry to be asking such basic questions, as I said this is a first time Allied machine for me and I haven't a clue what they looked like or what colors to use.
