I did not tell her I did close up work. She said she could put me in bifocals if i wanted them, but I don't need them for reading or anything yet. It is just when i get down to something really tiny like the pe on the Eduard Spandaus that I feel the need for some assistance. I have noticed that I do see better when I take my regular eyeglasses off (I am near-sighted). I found a workable substitute at http://www.widgetsupplies.com Item # ht-mag-visor-3-lens The one I got has a fixed lens, a second lense that swings up and down, and a loupe. The lenses are plastic, and the headband adjusts with a velcro strip. The only problem I've had with it is that the visor is held to the headband with rivets, which tend to loosen up with use. However, a good hard squeeze with a pair of pliers tightens them back up again. All in all, I'm satisfied with it. I've gotten good service from these folks, and their S&H charges are quite reasonable. Usual disclaimer applies. Got back home on the 28th. In between I took many photos using the left one. Went to see an Ophthomolgist and in mid December they removed a cataract from that side. Now I have a much slower on developing on the left side and it will receive surgical attention in May or June. It is totally painless. So do not worry about that part. It must be done at a certain time during the developement. So be sure to get those things looked at by a Pro. Ernestine doesn't help much in that department store. If there is any hazyness at all see the Pro. Might be a good idea to check just because you can. I now have, Right side, long distance 20/20, but need glass to read, while lefty grows more hazy every day. Next review in March. Then I get the Optivisor and Headlights. We had been there only 5 times! b) if you look close on the pics you will notice the cordon around the aircraft. I did not want to climb over it. I got a pair of little clip on magnifiers from Shesto (an English supplier). They're really good, cost about 9 quid and (oh soo ocool) hinge up out of the way so I can see more than 3 inches in front of my nose whrn the PE goes AWOL, or a pretty girl walks up the street...
