It's a resin kit but virtually identical to the Toko/Eastern Express Hansa Brandenburg-D.1 (Star strutter), right down to the flaws on the trailing edges of the top wing, the dimples, the little holes for the interplane struts - including those near the fuselage of the lower wing. The overhead gun thing has those same slight sink marks. The wheels are different for some reason and it does not contain an engine cover option, which wasn't present on the 20.15 but was present on some D.1's. Essentially the mold is almost identical. Of course it gives you regular interplane struts not the star struts. To be fair, the Phönix 20.15 was modified from a Hansa Brandenburg D.1 28.50 airframe, according to the Phönix D.I/D.II Datafile. However, those wishing to build the 20.15 would do a lot better to buy the Eastern Express from NKR Models for AU$9 (US$4.50) and make your own interplane struts. Michael So, I'm not saying anyone did anything illegal but obviously, I would recommend not buying the HR Model 20.15 unless you prefer using resin and spending 3 times as much money. Most digicams in that price range have an upper aperture of f13, which is good depth of field. You will not get f22 out of any thing under $2000 any time soon and to be honest you don't really need it. The only time I have problems with depth of field is when I'm using macro mode so the camera is fairly close to the model. The performance of my digicam in depth of field is only slightly inferior to my Nikon SLR at f22 and yet my digicam only goes to f11. Right now, the digicam I have, the Nikon 990, is about that price (~$400) over the internet. BTW, digicams that adjust aperture do so via a menu, so you will not see the typical adjustment ring. Check the specs to find out. As for sanding ability, it does sand down fairly easily, slightly more difficult than putty but nowhere near as difficult as CA. I think you may have a bad batch as I've never experienced any problems like that. By small imperfections, I am talking about things about equal to scratches caused by 200 grit paper and small pinholes that always seem to plague a finished seam. Something that I have noticed when using Mr Surfacer is that after drying it doesn't seem to cover the imperfection perfectly, but after sanding down it really does. This is because Mr. Surfacer has fantastic self leveling properties that tends to "follow" the irregularity leading you to think it really didn't cover the imperfection. It does and it took me a while to figure this out especially after laying down several coats of the stuff! One coat usually does it. This service, Bob, is very good, but I don't think it's the same as the Kodak Photo CD file format. The K. Picture CD gives you back your photos as JPEGs, doesn't it? K. Photo CD gives you five (or six in the "Pro" version) copies of your picture, each a different size, all in Photo CD format which can be opened in Photoshop and others of the type, but PS cannot 'save' in this format. The really nice thing about the Photo CD is that it can be made from already existing negatives or slides: really great for archiving older stuff you have lying around deteriorating. Y'all can check out the comparison at: http://www.kodak.com/global/en/consumer/products/pictureCD/mac/comparison.shtml I've been using these for about 5 or 6 years now and they're great. Just because a kiosk or a franchise holder has a sign that says Kodak does not make it a Kodak facility. It has a Kodak machine, permission to use the name, some training and nothing more. There are benefits to the real thing. I know that often readers believe what ever they want and when others tell them how things are they come up with a BS routine. So I didn't tell them all of the good stuff. You just did. A Kodak CD is not a Wolf or Ritz Camera CD. It is a different entity. The processing machinery is not exactly the same and even if it was the operators are totally different people. It turns into the difference between a processor and a Pro-processor. Thank you for being knowledgable about this aspect of Kodak versus others. As I said before ---I send mine to Kodak. Others can do as they wish. Lee M.
