Be sure to include color bars (as previously suggested) to allow viewers >to interpret color correctness. > FYI, from my days in the industry. As a mail order company, we would show box art and line drawings of the various kits that we sold. On the surface, this looked like nothing more than what is being suggested here. The main difference is that we had a written agreement from all of the manufacturers to use the box art or line drawings of the same, as well as reproductions of the decals and or instructions (at a reduced size) in our catalogs, flyers and ads. For those manufacturers who we did not have the written agreement, our art room folks would draw the images that were used. Either way, the material that was used was still covered under copyright laws. The idea and the intent is very good, and is something that could be used by all list members, however, the written agreement to put the images together and make them available for the public to see should be obtained first. This kind of goes in line with the manufacturer using RK or BP's art with out asking first. It was issued in May 2001 and states it will probably expire in October. I guess I will have to order something to get a new one. Anyhow, they list a Blue Max SPAD VII (1/48) for 19.99 British pounds. I bought two of them earlier this year when I couldn't get the JMGT resin kit which was frequently listed but impossible to obtain. A query to: sales@kingkit.co.uk couldn't hurt. They have a site at www.kingkit.co.uk but it is usually out of date, so I would advise direct contact. > > HTH, > Mike Kavanaugh > > In a message dated Fri, 5 Oct 2001 4:45:40 PM Eastern Daylight Time, "Graham Hunter" writes: > > > Thanks D. and RK. If a bullet or more than one went through the fabric, badly damaging one of the vertical fuselage formers, or one of the tension cables, it would have to be replaced. The bullet hole in the fabric could have a small repair. If the lacing was damaged it would have to be replaced. Therefore...No paint. The list has discussed doing a fair comparison of all the available Lozenge decals. This would include a scan of each and some opinions. This is a great idea especially for those of us who rely on mail order and may not have seen decal set "xyz". Anyway the problem with this would seem to be that we don't want those in charge of UNH to get a communication saying that copyright laws are being infringed etc. I doubt this would happen and I definitely havent heard anything to suggest this is the case, but I do agree there is no smoke without fire so that type of communication could get the wwi list shut down even if it were unjustified. However why not write the review do the scans and send them to Bob and Chris at IM. If they feel the review wasn't fair they would exercise their editorial control. If not it gets published and we all are the wiser. It would be nice if all the manufacturers were polled to see if they wanted there products reviewed, but what are you going to say if they decline. We didn't review so and so decal because they declined. That is as bad as a negative review. If you don't mention the fact that say Pegasamericalwarbirds wasn't in the review it could also be construed as bad since its saying that you don't think it was worthy of review... Therefore just do the reviews say not bad just like Ray Rimmel does to cover the bad decals and really nice things about the good ones, we all understand the language of reviews and will know which were the good ones. Just my opinion. Anyone know of good earplugs, I have to take my son and 8 of his buddies to something called lazertag this morning.... Someone remind these guys that Salmsons flew in Japaneese service...... Somebody had a whole table set up to display the Al-Clad metallic finishes. Boys & girls, these are nice! Not a huge need for bare metal in OT subjects, but I've never seen more convincing metal finishes. Everything was going smoothly and congrats are surely due Jack Gartner and the rest of the fellows on the contest committee for a first rate event. sp ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 6 Oct 2001 15:03:01 -0500 From: "Graham Hunter" To: Subject: Added to the Stockpile/Spad Conversion Message-ID: <000501c14ea1$e7b6c2a0$fa0101c0@grahamh> This past week I added two more kits to my stock of WWI A/C. Last Saturday was the CSM Pfalz D.XII and today was the Eduard ProfitPack Sopwith Triplane. Now to place that ad in the Sunday Paper "Needed MORE TIME". Thanks to every one who responded to the Spad conversion questions. I guess I will have to wait to do a Spad VII. I'll be on the look out for either a BM or the JMGT kits. BTW Mike you might want to try Sopwith Hobbies for the AJP Maquette Spad VII ($57.95) as Juan lists it on his catalog.
