However, there have been some awesome OtF issues in the past, so maybe - hopefully - we'll see more in the future. The issue with Bob's artwork of the Lafayette Escadrille SPAD 7 was a very decent issue, so it's still possible. I need to work at night when the family is home. That way I could build during the day when they are gone. I'll sleep when I'm dead. Anyhoo, I was able to get the lower wing on the Roden Fokker D.VII last night. Luckily I didn't ruin the lozenge. Now I find that other parts don't fit so well. The horizontal stab and the radiator didn't work right. Sheesh! That called for more grinding. I'll be using some putty tonight to fix the radiator. Hah! And I haven't gotten to the struts yet! Hopefully it will cool off enough so I can go to the garage and do some painting. (I have a line of airplanes to paint.) It really burns me when Roden's drawings don't match their parts. The lower wing printed on the box art was the perfect size to act as a guide to align rib tapes. Oddly the top wing part and the top wing illustration are different spans. All told I'm still not happy with the kit. It feels more like an early Pegasus kit than a Roden/Toko. This was supposed to be a quick and easy build. Still, my worst day modelling is better than my best day werking. I think Eric's Gotha is plotting revenge on me now for ignoring it in favor of this dinky scale, shoddy model. Later! I will not say it never happens in Luxembourg but I never heard that a paket to somebody got lost here if it was correctly addressed. As I corresponded with a reponsible of Eduard I was informed that they did not just loose my single model - they lost a whole lot of pakets at that time! The strange thing is that there never was any Nieuport aircraft in Norway. Our Army Air Arm ordered a Niuport fighter from France during WW1, but received a crushed Hanriot instead. So my question is: Were Nieuport propellers fitted to other aircraft that could have been delivered to Norway or is this a souvenir brought back from France? There needs to be more French stuff out there. ;-) Matt Bittner ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 21 Aug 2001 22:33:28 +0000 From: "Brent Theobald" To: wwi@wwi-models.org Subject: Re: CD ideas Message-ID: Hey Bob, I think it would be a great idea. Apparently Tamiya does as well. I'm sure many of you have seen the Spitstang and T-34 CD's they sell. So I think the idea is valid. Later!
