Delete and ignore them.. Reason is very simple. There is a SPAM guard on the web site and if it decides to do so it will remove the Servers Address that handles your E-Mail from any access to the site. This means you will have to change your Internet Supplier system completely in order to send any messages to the WW I site. If you doubt the truth of what I am saying plese ask Allan Wright and he can explain what can happen. This is a copy of the message he sent last time someone did this. Please do not do the Reply thing to SPAM Messages. The result can be a disaster for you if you do. You do it jokingly. The RBL Monitor does it with a vengence. from Allan: 06 April 2001 I actually use a service called RBL - Realtime Blackhole List. My mail 'daemons' check with a registry at RBL for any incoming mail that is on an ISP that has been registered as a 'SPAM' host. Mail from those hosts is ignored. As part of my participation my mail 'daemnons' also forward spam info to the RBL for POSSIBLE inclusion on their lists. If your ISP gets on the RBL (heck even wwi-models.org got on it once!) your ISP has to correct the problem in their mail services configuration and then ask RBL to poll their computers to see that they are safe. Once that is done your ISP gets removed from the 'Black Hole List'. So yes, if you forward spam to the list you MAY have ISP problems which, depending on your ISP may be hard or easy to get resolved. Anyways, simply delete any spam that happens to come from the list. I handle in the background here the efforts to prevent it's transmission to you. MIne was done many years ago (1990) and just copied that in the In Action. I used light and dark green as well as a tan colour. If I was to redo it, I'm not sure what colours I would use. PC10 would most likely be one of the colours, the lighter green 'could' be PC10 lightened by white. ... or perhaps they borrowed colours from a French unit. The only examples I've seen is supposed fabric from MvR's tripe in an acrylic cube at several museums. That appeared to me to be almost maroon. Very dark in color. I'm sure this is open to a lot of interpetation but some opinions would be great. I usually use Model Master acrylics and am wondering what people mix to come up with that shade. I just saw something called Boyd Red, which I believe is a brand of Testors enamel, that seems close to the preserved fabric I have seen. He said if I wanted to match the color, get a white sheet of paper, stick my finger with a pin, and let a couple drops fall on the paper. Then let it dry. He said the color was basically identical to that. Technically, as I recall, he explained that it was so dark because the dope was clear with a red dye, to which a significant amount of carbon black had been added, such that you could see the black particles clearly under a magnifying lens. Anyway, that Dan's 2 cents, and I tend to trust him;-) I don't know whether that's an accurate match for the red used by Jasta 11. -----Original Message----- From: wwi@wwi-models.org [mailto:wwi@wwi-models.org]On Behalf Of NodalPoint@aol.com Sent: Friday, April 13, 2001 3:23 PM To: Multiple recipients of list Subject: Jasta 11 Red Hi, I'm curious to what paints people are using to model the red markings on Jasta 11 aircraft. The best result I achieved was on a DML Dr1 which was first painted in the streaky green. After that I overpainted with a thin coat of plain old Humbrol gloss red, with a brush naturally. Works a treat. cheers Peter L ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Apr 2001 14:22:19 -0700 From: "Robert Fabris" To: Subject: Elevator magazine Message-ID: <003401c0c45f$d34dc380$f03b480c@garage> Back in 1987, John Sizer (UK) published a quarterly called 'The Elevator', covering aircraft of all types, of the period 1919 - 1929. The version by Polygon is in Russian. Otherwise, they're the same book with some slight differences in the color profiles. I like using Humbrol's # 60 Matt Scarlet. Also #153 Matt Insignia Red might work, but I haven't used it. I have used # 60 quite a bit and I think it looks okay. -Rick- ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 14 Apr 2001 01:07:47 +0200 (CEST) From: knut.erik.hagen@eunet.no (Knut Erik Hagen) To: wwi@wwi-models.org Subject: OtF in SD wasRe: DH.4 INFO sent by who?
