However, I have been able to come up with yet another way to get around MIME. For those with "straight" Outlook, bring up your address book, and add the email addy for this list. When you add it to the SMTP tab, click the [Send Options] button. Now click the check box "I want to specify the format..." on. You'll be presented with more options now. The bottom most radio button (Plain Text/UUEncode) should also be check on. The check box associated with that radio button doesn't matter. Unfortunately this requires one step. When you reply to a message from the list, delete the email addy in the To box and then add the new address you just set up in your address book. One extra step, but you'll make the rest of us happy. :-) Matt Bittner > -----Original Message----- > From: dfernet0 [mailto:dfernet0@rosario.gov.ar] > Sent: Friday, April 06, 2001 12:13 PM > To: Multiple recipients of list > Subject: RE: MIME > > > How does MIME taste? > D. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 6 Apr 2001 14:24:40 -0300 From: "dfernet0" To: Subject: Figures Message-ID: <012901c0bebe$76ca3180$4640a8c0@ssp.salud.rosario.gov.ar> Andrei wrote: > This has been born out since the advent of the first truly international show > in 1993... the French, Spanish, British and Americans can all be pretty much > recognized by their style of painting... pretty curious, I think... all works > of art, but all quite different! I have to write about this... around here, most of the figure modelling magazines that can be found on the newstands are from Spain, and they're greatly influenced the "argie" modelling style. Unfortunately I don't like the "spanish" style of exaggerate the highlights/shadows that give the figures a lot of character (conceded) but that they're undelicate once you get nearby to see them better. My personal preferences are on some well known figure painters and modelers.... Bill Horan, Mike Good... and our own Robert Karr and Andrei Koribanics. In fact my Stormtrooper on the WW1 model gallery is a Warriors kit that owes a lot from an Andrei's vignette on the same subject. While #109 was listed as the 'WWI Blue', it was not the same as the old HG10 'German Light Blue' ¯ it is somewhat darker than the 'Authentics' line color, and quite a bit too dark and blue for the 'true' colors, given Rimell's values. > > The German Purple and RFC Green matches were discontinued in the Humbrol 'SuperEnamel' revanche. Those mixes I have tried have matched the chips I painted years ago from the Authentics versions, though some are still meta-matches. > > The color comparison are from my Mk.I ver. Jim, a few weeks ago I made a survey through my photo collection of WWI survivers. List members told me how a underside has to look like after I complaint Roden's Pfalz. What I saw was: For around 50% the wings are flat, but tape is visible. For the other 50% the rib positions are cleary visible and marked as the fabric is sucked in! Plus tapes. I would not bother that in 1/72 nor in 1/48 but in 1/16?? Take a sharp look to your picture collection. If you see ribs on the undersides, watch the shadows. Anyone know anything about Van's scale models? I got a flyer from them in 1998 after seeing a set of their 1/48 scale resin figures called Red Baron 1918. They also advertised Behind the Lines, 5 figure set German & British, and a 5 figure set of French figures. Anyone ever seen these? Are they still aviaiable? Any coments would be appriciated.
