The easiest way is to just travel to your closest well stocked train hobby shop and ask for Grandt line Nuts & Bolts they should have every size you could imagine. I checked my supply and I have in 1/4" scale = 1/48 Nuts & Bolts sizes 1/2", 3/4", 1". All you have to do to use these is drill a small hole and set the rod down into the hole until the nut is against the surface, very easy. Oh yes while your there check out the MV lenses, they have some great ones that make beautiful rear view mirrors that some planes carried. The Giants Project is NOT a Cook-up, and isn't a successor or replacement for either the Albatros or Sopwith ones. The idea was to have a place on the net where we could highlight the 'larger' side of WW1 modelling (By nature aircraft, but if anyone can include vehicles etc, I'll gladly do so). Becasue most of these are 'long-term' projects, my thoughts were that it would be a 'modelling' site, and not an attempt to produce a large amount of background a la the cookups, so we can have 'in progress' shots as well as those nice finished models. What's a giant ?, well, I recall we discussed more than one engine, or a wingspan of more than 60ft - but I can be flexible. The idea is to show that WW1 modelling isn't all about small scouts (Tarrant Tabor anyone ?) Hopefully, the pages will grow over the coming year (Gothas and HP 0s will abound no doubt!). And I may dig out my DH10. There are some very small styrene rivets made by Grandt Line for model railroaders. These have a peg about 1/4" long. You drill the proper size hole in the plastic, install the peg into the hole and apply a small drop of liquid cement to hold it in place. If you can't perfectly match the molded in ones, drill them out, sand them flat and install the grandt line ones in thier place - a perfect match.
