I'll have a look later in the evening. However, ther was a number of articles bot on captured Allied and captured German a/c in past numbers of both Cross&Cockade US and C&C (I). Another interesting article is in a Windsock magazine (the German Fighters Special issue). IIRC, it was called "Under new management" and showed some captured allied planes used operationally or semi operationally by the Germans. Blue Rider did a sheet based on that article. Finally, the ultimate in captured aircraft marking is maybe that famous Bristol F2B with the large letters "Nicht Schiessen - Gute Leute" (Don't shoot - good people) on its wings. I think this aircraft was actually shown in a number of publications. I've built Kirchstein's bird, and I can say that the optical illusion does work! If you look at it from top view, it looks like the wings and body are misaligned and that the wing crosses are askew. Quick work with a ruler shows that they are not. Additionally, I read somewhere (Imrie's book, maybe?) that the only battle damage Kirchstein ever suffered in die "Tauschung" was to the outer edge of the upper left wing, so there may be some validity to his idea. Actually, there are two captured Pfalz D III in the WS DF 7 on the D III: On p. 21 is Hegelers 4184/17 (Jasta 15 with black markings and a cockade on the tailfin, on p. 24 is Hecht´s 1370/17 (JAsta 10, green tail, black fuselage and wing stripes, yellow (No - no olive green) fuselage front and Enemy Aircraft no G. 110 below the original Bestellnummer. This might be especially interesting for you, as the MAC D III kit provides the markings for this aircraft in it´s (suspected) earlier guise, when it is claimed it was flown by Voss. Now that´s something: A (potential - this is all on photographic interpretation only) Voss aircraft captured by the RFC, and the serials etc are all there in the kit. Plus it looks nice with it´s green (from the original) - blue -white -red tailstripe. I´ll scan and send the Strutter photos later today. BTW, one of them shows the same aircraft (A 1914) from a different perspective to the one at the DF (but with a nice view on the upper wing cutout), and the other one shows still British markings (of Strutter A 993).
