With the exception of the leading edge, that's exactly what I'm doing to my center section. Yours turned out quite good. I havn't seen any clear pics that show the leading edge. It looks like the Nieuport Datafile Special is the next item on my "to-buy" list. As for the celon panel, I hadn't decided yet what I'll be doing, but Mark Shannon's guidance sure sounds solid. Before I get too much farther, I need to head over to the base wood shop and cut the wood for the "Krieg 2000" biplane jig. I'll let you know how it comes out. KA >>> lance.krieg@amerus.com 01/08/01 03:25PM >>> Ken: You might check the in-progress shots of my N.17 on the web site, which was constructed using the references you mentioned. I also opened up the center of the upper wing, as you plan to do. I will say this about the cockpit interior; almost nothing is visible on the completed model except the seat and the side walls, so spare yourself a lot of the work and concentrate on getting a couple of instruments to a jewel-like finish. Let me know what you plan to use for the Cellon panel, and how it comes out. I found that to be a surprisingly tricky part of the exercise. All of the references you mentioned are available through the library loan programs, but are largely superflous if you have the Albatros Nieuport special. To bring it more OT, a comment to whoever it was a few days back that was asking about Osterkamp's colour scheme on his EV. I remember some correspondence on this a couple of years back (at least) but couldn't find it in the archive. IIRC, some contributors felt that the balck/yellow stripes may not extend all the way round the fuselage and that 4 colour fabric may be visible underneath. But this is only a recollection of an increasingly confused person. Perhaps one of the contributors from that time might care to comment (if they are out there....)
