We might should have a Fredrichshaven cook-up next with all of those being ordered. I'll keep taking orders until next Sunday because I figure no one will be at the Modelbud office to take my order Saturday night. I mis-spoke when I said this is open to everyone in the US. I can't remember if anyone has built one. I do remember that people say that they look very nice in the box. Windsock reviewed a couple and liked them but mentioned they would be very challenging. I have been tempted to purchase their Caproni C.III but I'm a little unhappy with the incorrect rib outline. I should say lack of shape. The wings are one big flat piece of P/E which you have to form to shape. Others on this list have pointed out the the 1/1 wings were so thin that the flat ribs on the kit really shouldn't be a problem. Most likely they are right, but it bugs me. I have opened boxes recently which went into storage when I went overseas ten years ago and been surprised to find kits in progress I didn't even remember having. Every once in a while I make a commitment not to start anything new until I have finished something, but it doesn't always work. Right now I'm working backwards from recent acquisitions to genuine antiques. I find that many kits bogged down due to me getting ahead of technology to solve a problem - wait ten years or so and some product comes on the market to make the fix easy. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! Modelling time is going to be at a premium for the next while as I removed the wings from my 1:1 scale aeroplane today; I will be doing real fabric work for the next while, not lozenge decals or other such substitute for the real thing... No, it won't be applied diagonally and it won't have a big sag between the ribs! I usualy start a new model if I'm in the mood, and almost every new kit I get is de-sprued as soon as it gets near the workbench. This summer, as I feel too cranky with hot weather to do detail work, I packed my almost finished Albatros and Taube for a while and got out some vacs and other projects for 2001 to sand fuselage interiors and cut pieces from styrene sheets (and ruin the wings, while at it). So far, I've sanded about 4 kit fuselages and cut out 3 vac kits. After that, I usually box them away and keep them for rainy days. As much as I enjoy building tiny details, if the temperature rises over 25ºC and the sun shines outside I can't bear to do dials 1mm wide!
