It should be interesting to see. Well. IMO the kit cries for three small improvements: - there should be an opening at the end of fuselage where the fabric was omitted in the real thing. This opening was standard issue facilitating access to a tail skid; - there should be another one narrow hole in the engine cowling, just before those three molded in the kit part; - aerodynamic covers of gun ammo feeders should be shligtly redesigned (in the machines with guns located on the sides of fuselages) But all of these improvements except of cowling opening are easy to apply. Same here. Many Eduard engines seem to lack the intake pipes. Granted they are on the back of many rotary designs, but the engines look incomplete without them. CSM does a fine job of providing them in cast metal, but with Eduard's newer injection technology they should be able to make a nice set. Hey Eric, any chance of CSM offering intake pipes for rotaries as a seperate stand alone item? I'd surely snap up a bunch if they were offered that way. I like the idea of a PE frame for open tailed designs like the Hanriot & Sopwith. I just finished scratching one on a Toko Snipe. Sure adds to the model, but its a bit of a pain to do. A nice PE frame to go over a scratched tailplane adjustment mechanism would be a big plus in my book. sp ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 23 Dec 2000 07:20:32 -0600 From: Ernest Thomas To: wwi@pease1.sr.unh.edu Subject: Re: HR Models 1:48 Martinsyde S.1 Message-ID: <3A44A69F.CEFFA59C@bellsouth.net> Todd, Not positive, but I think you mis-calculated the cost of the local shipping. Secondly, I just finished posting 8 new photos of my Salmson 2A2 model on my website. The following url's are ridiculously long, but if you click on it or copy and paste them they should take you directly to the new pages so you don't have to hunt around to see what's new. If these url's don't work, just go to http://communities.msn.com/Salmson2A2 and look in the fuselage and wing sections for the new entries. Jim Landon START HERE (Observer's fold-up seat is operational): http://content.communities.msn.com/isapi/fetch.dll?action=show_photo&ID_Community=Salmson2A2&ID_Topic=3&ID_Message=196 Then click on "NEXT" to see the observer's ammo rack. Then click on "NEXT" to see the wing attachment details. Then go to here to see the operational aileron control horn: http://content.communities.msn.com/isapi/fetch.dll?action=show_photo&ID_Community=Salmson2A2&ID_Topic=11&ID_Message=191 Then click on "NEXT" to see shot 2 of the operational aileron control horn. Then click on "NEXT" to see the aileron control cable pulley. Then click on "NEXT" to see the interplane rigging brackets. Then click on "NEXT" to see the improved wing panel design. ************* THE END **************** _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com --=_9EC5ECCD.73125E3F-- ------------------------------ End of WWI Digest 2916 **********************
