Ivan is a listee - I'm sure that he'll welcome any comments you have for him. However, I'm wondering how long you'd expect a delivery from the Czech Republic to take? My experience is that surface delivery will take about 10 weeks to Australia, and I'd imagine 5 weeks to the USA - airmail rather less of course, though a priority air package from Ivan to me still took over two weeks. You idiot!" He was far more fortunate than most who have that happen to him - in all the years since the show stopped playing in first-run here in North America, there has been no minute of any day of any month of any year that it hasn't been playing somewhere in the world, generating residuals for all attached. In fact, it financed "The Godfather," since Bing Crosby, whose company originally financed "Hogan's Heroes," was nice enough to give the show in its entirety to Al Ruddy, the screenwriter who created it and sold him on the idea, the year before he died. Ruddy was able to take the f irst year of profits he got and finance development of "the Godfather," and when Paramount wanted to fire Francis Ford Coppola from the production, was able to step up and guarantee Paramount any losses incurred as a result of keeping him on as director. Not too bad for a stupid little TV show, eh? Truly "the little engine that could." One of those bits of Hollyweird history you never hear unless the producer is taking you to lunch at someplace you could never afford on your own as he woos you for your "hot script" and tries to convince you that "he's the one." :-) TC ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 7 Dec 2000 23:20:59 EST From: TomTheAeronut@aol.com To: wwi@pease1.sr.unh.edu Subject: Re: ot forays (was Re: wing decals) Message-ID: In a message dated 12/7/00 10:40:26 PM EST, mkendix@hotmail.com writes: << You mean Werner Klemper(sp?) the actor? I didn't have much to go on, but I think I got the major differences of the OEFFAG machines cockpit. The internally mounted gun being the cause of most of them. It has long been known that white dope photographed with orthochromagnon film will invariably produce a polka dot pattern with the dot size precisly 282mm diameter and the distribution logarithmic both port-starboard and fore-aft. Also (invariably) the dots will appear darker and the background lighter according to an inverse square of the actual amount of light falling on the white dope. Incidentally, all orthochromagnon film used during WW1 was coated on 3.6mm thick slate quarried from a cave in southern France, and all samples now held are of Martinsyde F.100 which have faded to such a degree as to show no better than stick figures and the animal itself Regards Shane ********************************************************************** The information contained in this e-mail is confidential and is intended only for the use of the addressee(s).
