Well Mark, you make a good case. So far this year you've averaged one every sixty days or so. Now you are going to build one model every 1.5 days? I am doing two for the same museum. An Re-8 and a Brisfit. They won't even see one before February 1st. Well, maybe one. The Re-8's in the painting stage. But the Brisfit has the dreaded quadruple te ripple. Good luck! Let us know how it goes. Maybe you can bump Dennis off as reigning champ for most models built in a year. On the plus side most of these will be shake and bakes. I will laughingly shed my AMS when it comes to cockpit detailing because with one exception all of the kits will be ot, canopied and displayed under glass anywhere. . .no one will be able to see that yes I did actully put the appropriate coloured knobs on the throttle levers ;-) Building these fast won't be the problem. The challenge will be working with a local sign company to create custom markings. Either home made inket decals or maybe custom cut vinyl masks. For the most part the planes that I'm doing are all readily available. I just have to do a little more research and add the appropdiate sqdn codes and serial numbers. So far it's going swimmingly. First batch will be bought tomorrow. I've got to go and see if I can order a nice 48th scale harvard, Ventura in 72nd and - and this one is the pig - a Boulton Paul Defiant. I want to go with 48th if only to avoid the horrid little lumps I've seen available in 72nd. Sorry for the continued ot content. Bringing it around back to OT I will keep the list appraised of what the sign shop guy and I can whip up. He's a modeler himself (though he builds mainly cars) If things work out he may agree to a little side line for custom decals and masks. Fingers crossed. I place a photocopy of the camo diagrams - in the correct scale - under a sheet of glass, then put masking tape onto the glass and cut along the little black lines. Mark the tape with pencil to assist in laying it correctly onto the subject, then remove an place on the model. I then fill the gaps with more tape if necessary and spray away. Works best on a light box, but works okay without. I use this method with aircraft and found it appropriate for one of those water borne targets in a splinter pattern too Incidentally, it's best for flat surfaces but it'll work for fuselages too, however you do need to (ahem) interpolate a lot (Guess!)
