It's a sickness, an obsession. Of course now that he has done that for us ESCI will add it to their list of 1/72 birds they are re-releasing. Anyone else baffled by them releasing the Dr-I, Camel, etc, and NOT the Se5a? Here's their logic as I see it: "Lets release only the kits that are already out there, someone else mus know better than us what the market wants" - SHEESH! setenv RANTMODE off..... -Al =============================================================================== Allan Wright Jr. | "I Played the Fool" - Southside Johnny University of New Hampshire +-------------------------------------------------- Research Computing Center | WWI Modeling mailing list: wwi@pease1.sr.unh.edu Internet: aew@unh.edu | WWI Modeling WWW Page: http://pease1.sr.unh.edu =============================================================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 14 Jul 2000 15:17:33 +0200 From: "Tomasz Gronczewski" To: Subject: RE: Lozenge decals & How to hide sins Message-ID: >> Since I have close to 600 >> unbuilt kits, Wow! It's not a sickness to have a closet full of kits, hell we all have that happening (well I do) but his closet has quite a number (in the 40s I believe) of Se5a kits. And I thought my 14 was a lot...... :-) =============================================================================== Allan Wright Jr. | "I Played the Fool" - Southside Johnny University of New Hampshire +-------------------------------------------------- Research Computing Center | WWI Modeling mailing list: wwi@pease1.sr.unh.edu Internet: aew@unh.edu | WWI Modeling WWW Page: http://pease1.sr.unh.edu =============================================================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 14 Jul 2000 08:38:51 -0500 From: "Matt Bittner" To: "wwi@pease1.sr.unh.edu" Subject: Re: WWI and Dinosaurs Message-ID: <200007141338.GAA06345@hawk.prod.itd.earthlink.net> On Fri, 14 Jul 2000 09:39:09 -0400 (EDT), Allan Wright wrote: > Just ask Barry at Rosemont about his lozenge covered, Ezinekreuse > decorated terrydactyl (ok like 3 spelling errors in that sentence). > It was for a WWI only contest (exebition?) The extra heat required for the dye sub process caused the head to stick to the decal film and braking of the ribbons. The other problem would be getting the sheet and image in alignment when changing from the Alps to the Ink Jet printer. The Alps will do just about anything including the printing of white except for Oranges in the regular print modes. The key seams to be setting the paper to card stock instead of plain paper. After more than a month of model-lessness I've finally beaten the block. Thanks to all who recommended grabbing a shake and bake kit and just jumping in. Also thanks in part to CBS and it's tastelessness!. When SWMBO decided she wanted to watch that appalling show Big Brother (utterly awful. . .not one redeeming feature. in short, bleech!) I banished my self to the work room, resolving to pick up the mess on the floor and bring some sanity to it (hah, fat chance.) Briefly caressed the DVa languishing with it's fuselage halves still apart. Then I dove in. Found a Special Hobby Savoia Marchetti Pipistrello (okay so it wasn't the right period) Neat looking colour scheme, minimal interior visible. . .just what the doctor ordered. Whapped on a coat of paint inside, added a couple of seat belts and that was it. The fuse is together, wings are on and tonight we paint this puppy. Slam bam and thank you very much. Felt good to do something with no brass, no fiddly scratch building and no reference materials convincing me to cut holes where no one has cut before (except listlanders) Aaahhh, I feel much better now. Now I can go back and let the AMS creep back. MVJ - who's just noticed some flecks of interior green on his thumb and is wearing it like a medal. nb DVa NU - spolit for choice. . . ------------------------------ End of WWI Digest 2465 **********************
