Try here: http://www.sierra.com/dynamix/rb3d/downloads.html A few months ago Sierra Studios fired entire Dynamix group and killed unfinished "Desert Fighters" project. Therefore they removed all Dynamix' links out of their homepage. Nevertheless the Dynamix pages seem to exist still at the abovementioned address. I think that Red Baron 3d is the best sim game I have ever flew. It is extremely playable, it is 100% On Topic and the level of historical accuracy is amazing. It hasn't been created for gamers, it has been created for us - fanatics. I agree that first contact with this sim may result with mixed emotions, but after a few hours of the gameplay in campaign mode you may forget about the real world. There is a lot of tricks how to fly RB3d but I think that a good analog joystick with a throttle is essential. Also if you play RBII or RB3d you may have been forced to re-calibrate the joystick before each gameplay. Also, RPM has found it "necessary" to further line the wallets of their execs, so all paints owned by RPM are being increased in price - in the case of Polly Scale, by one whole US dollar per bottle! I would say that the fuel tanks, at least on the D.Va, were unpainted aluminum. I looked at cockpit pictures in all the Datafiles and the Special, as well as Schaedel's pamphlet, In Action, and the Stair Albatros book. There were plenty of variables on the instrument colors, but most had black bodies, white faces, and black or aluminum bezels. A couple of interesting points... The Special has a photo of a D.I on page 12 of a large instrument on the port wall, about where the auxiliary throttle would protrude on the D.Va. This looks like a tachometer, but who knows... At any rate, it's location would interfere with an auxiliary throttle, so maybe there was not one fitted to the D.I? On page 44 of the same book, there is a map roller mounted in front of the port ammo box... a different variation that would add interest to the cockpit. Maybe I should join the cook-up.... Mark Radiator tubing interface on engine- If you look at the picture below you can see the spot where that front tube enters the engine - its that tube coming out of the front cylinder centerd at the top (the black part) - the part is unfinished - it takes an imediate turn to starboard then up to the radiator in the wing. http://members.xoom.com/_XMCM/OTprojects/images/valb_mm_merc02.jpg also look at: http://home.xnet.com/~tmblweed/mercedes.html the first image on the page shows the tube the front radiator hose attaches to. As far as the rear one - I'm not sure - it obviously enters the fuse on the starboard side. But I just looked at 2 pictures - one shows it entering forward of the exhaust - the other aft?? I think it connect to the engine at the water pump (lower, aft bottom of cranckase) well - this is a guess but it makes sense. I'm am VERY close to finishing the CAD of the engine - So if you can wait a couple of days I'll be posting a more complete set of images which should answer any questions. I'll check my references when I get home on that aft radiator tube Mark _______________________________________________________________________ Why pay when you don't have to? I see prices in my Datafiles but they have been printed in the early 90's. Air and surface so I can compare. Also if you get them which is the best way, is air worth the extra cost? Also I see that Wise Owl is another place they can be ordered from, is it better to order from them verus direct from Windsock? Thanks for the help, I have the box open and am fondling all the parts now as I study my Albatros D.III profipack. Soon I will be removing the parts from the sprues then, OHHHHH!!!! sorry, I was thinking how nice this bird is going to look. Best regards, Jon Jon V.
