However, I somehow deleted the message. It was 1997, and I just picked up a copy of the Dec. issue from '97. Anybody have the issue with the lineup of 209 Squyadron Camels that show the Rotherham pump on the U/C leg? Or any pic of Brown's Camel from the Starboard side? Here's another question: Would the underside of the fuselage be CDL or PC-10? And if it's CDL, then would there be a margin of PC-10 around the underside as you find under the wings? Also, the recent discussion about WWI soldiers, battle tactics & technology etc. made me think about re-subscribing to the WWI History list. While not quite "Friendly" as this list, the degree of detailed information that some of those listees have is quite astonishing. Some of the material is quite arcane and isoteric for the non-specialist, but it is a great source. Just like our list, certain specific topics cycle round; so where we have "What colour was Big R's cowl?", "How do I make PC-10?" and "Best rigging techniques", they have "Was Haig a genius or a murderer?", "Who was responsible for starting WWI?" and "Could the AEF have been successful at the Battle of the Somme?" The page describing how to "Join up" is at: http://raven.cc.ukans.edu/~kansite/ww_one/wwi-l.html I left that list a while ago when I caught some embarrassing flak for calling Barbara Tuckman "a historical novelist" :) Perhaps I should return, at least, in digest mode. This should kill any reflections. Then focus and shoot with the camera on a tripod and using the camera self timer. Take the exposure reading from an 18% grey card (I guess you can find one of these at a good photo shop. I had one that was offered with a magazine once and it really was the best thing to use to calculate exposure when doing this type of work. Unfortunately I lost it and I can't find one here). I'm writing from memory as this was the set up I used about 10 years ago to duplicate some photos. It did work fine, though. Depending on the size of the photos, you might have to use some sort of close up device, like attachment close-up lenses. Ah, of course, use a good fine grain B&W film, such as T-max 100.
