That's why the 11 is not in the book The 10 was the Gordon Bennet machine (the number was applied later when it was modified for military use), and the 11 was developed from experience gained with the single seat 10. The major components are of the same general shape but proportions were changed and dimensions reduced, plus some simplification was made to the structure. Message-ID: <386E6476.7E4E998@airmail.net> Happy Post Y2K folks! I am going to start designing the wing construction of my Caproni project on Tuesday. While I am doing that I want to start working out the material from which it will be built. Wood veneer is what I am wanting to use. I am concerned about the thin stuff warping and distorting the shape of my wing. I am also worried about it curling up between the time I cut them all out and get around to installing the parts. Does anyone know of a sealer/protectant that I can apply prior to construction that will keep the veneer from warping which will also allow glue and dope to adhere to it? Hopefully some of the ship experts out there will have some good answers. Have a good one! Brent P.S. I'm confused. I maybe could use your technique for the tiny lettering I need to put on my Tommy. I originally made "decals" for my Tommy by printing straight onto ordinary clear plastic sheet made for overhead transparencies. The plastic is frosted on one side and made to work with our HP Deskjet 870Cse printer. The image comes out perfect, even for tiny print. However the plastic is quite thick and it took many coats of clear sanding sealer to build up the fuselage sides to equal the thickness of the "decal". But it looked great. But then when I had to relocate the bottom wing and repaint the fuselage sides I lost all my hard work on the lettering. I redid the big numerals with a frisket stencil and a brush, but I need a way to do the little tiny lettering (like the word "LIFT" above the lifting rods, etc.). SuperCal Ink Jet decal paper from Micro Format, Inc. allows you to print on an inkjet your own home made decals. Included with the set for $20.00 is 5 sheets of decal paper(5"x8") and a can of spray coating that makes the ink fast. I put the decals on with water. They are thin, settled down with no setting solution and look good. One small decal had a bit of run to it. I don't think it got coated enough. I used about 1.5" of one sheet for this kit. I used commercial decals for national markings, the home made ones were only the specific aircraft numbers, serials, crew names, and a colored logo for VS-2 air group. If interested, the URL is http://www.paper-paper.com/ 2) An off topic question: Is there a font available for US Navy numbers? 3) Bringing it back on topic.
