Anyone know >anything about it? Is it a true 48 scale? I actually started on this one recently and am about 1/4 way through it. IIRC the wings match the Datafile drawings pretty closely, the fuselage is the right height and length but the cockpit is too small, too deep and slightly out but not far. The nose is also shallow. So far deepening the nose and making the cockpit surrounds less prominent have been the only modifications I have done. Like Ernie and DaveV say it looks like an SE5 on the shelf without modification. Steve Perry has an article on the Hispano Suiza engine which comes with the kit on his page too. IMNANO ( In My Newbie and Naive Opinion ) the kit is great. I have had tonnes of fun with the kit already. I also see in it's future a boomerang or kangaroo on the side too :) I recently bought the Lindbergh Jenny too. Didnt realize how large a plane the Jenny was, or on the other hand, I didnt realize just how small the Nieuports were lol. cam ______________________________________________________________ Get Your Free E-mail and Homepage at http://www.prontomail.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Dec 1999 12:27:14 -0500 From: smperry@mindspring.com To: Subject: Re: Still no site Message-ID: <001e01bf41a1$862d0260$d60156d1@default> > > > So in the mean time I'll have to imagine Alberto's D.VII and and just how > > far the bar has been raised. > > > > It's pretty damned high. > E I kinda figgered that sp ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Dec 1999 12:35:24 -0500 From: smperry@mindspring.com To: "Multiple recipients of list" Subject: Alberto's D.VII Message-ID: <004a01bf41a2$9d0ac7a0$d60156d1@default> Several kind list members have sent me images of Alberto's D.VII. Flat as a pancake, red (and I mean RED, not brown) dust with perilously little dead grass and about 1 tree per football field sized area - and those so small only a particularly optimistic pygmy would stand "under" them. And no water. FWIW I'm about 50km from Cloncurry, one end of the first scheduled commercial flight by the oldest airline in the English speaking world (and second oldest after KLM). The hangar used in those days is still at the airport, but has "Queensland and Northern Territories Aerial Services" painted on it instead of QANTAS. Getting it back OT - the pilots flying for QANTAS then were all AFC veterans including Hudson Fysh of 1AFC Shane (LOTS of snakes and lizards though :-) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Dec 1999 19:32:25 EST From: Zulis@aol.com To: wwi@pease1.sr.unh.edu Subject: Re: Lt. Their price was discounted from what FMP used to list, though I am not sure if it was discounted as much as FMP's own advertised price. I received the books in about a week. By contrast, even after the exchange of messages and excuses, etc - I am still waiting for my order from FMP that I placed in bloody August!
