After reading up on the subject I learn that the S/S should have the fabric applied at a 45 degree angle. Where does it start? Is there a vertical seam at the center of the wing and then perpendicular seams like this? ////|\\\\ Or do the seams all run parallel like this? ////////// Also after reviewing Steve Husted's models I noticed he did not apply rib tapes. Does anyone know why? My final question is can anyone point me to a picture or reference of a DIII with a bare metal cowling? I also have the Pegasus kit and I want to leave the metal cowling polished. It would look good turned too. Thank you all very much. It seems to me that higher number means thinner drill so maybe they are inch fractions (#85 = 1/85" = 0.298 mm), but is there some conversion for us thinking metric? I'm using 0.2 to 0.3 mm for my invisible thread rigging. 0.3 mm hole can house up to 4 threads. I have been three days off work since July 9th is a holiday down here (is the equivalent of your July 4th). This morning, the computer awoke quite crazed and I received a LOT of messages in no particular order. I'm still catching up the mess, but I must say that I was very glad to check out your "dial" in the Rogues Gallery. And the Rhinebeck Albatros looks great too! I sent you an Email early in the morning but it seems that you can't receive it. A short while ago, the mail account seems to have taken the good trail again and I hope that this one reaches you OK. I went to the cinema last friday and I was impressed the same as you for Episode 1. The spaceships seems "earlier" than the preceding movies, and I remembered your description of a biplane whe I saw the scene of the Jedi's ship heading to the Federation cruiser. As you said, I'm still slightly confused with all the galactic polithics (senators, queens, chancellors, hutts, etc etc) Maybe the die hard fans can comprehend this better than me. Anyway, it doesn't matter very much because the movie was great Fun, whatever they can say about it. An oeuvre d'art? nope, but I guess that wasn't in the mind of old Master Lucas when he filmed it. And I had a good time watching it. The cinema where I went is in a large avenue, so after the movie I tried a little of pod racing. I knocked a couple of cars and set them smashed. Wow! ;-) More later.... I had a busy modelling weekend too! regards D. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 11 Jul 1999 15:06:04 -0300 From: "Diego Fernetti" To: "WW1 modeling Mail List" Subject: web goodies Message-ID: <000101becbc8$0b219300$4640a8c0@prens-001.ssp.salud.rosario.gov.ar> Sandy, Jim, Matt, Edward, Jay & Paul I have looked at your new pictures and say "great job!!" one more time. Mike, Give future a try and skip all those setting and weting solutions.: Start with a gloss finish. Then liberally apply future to the place where you want the decal. Then aply the decal. Then more future on top of it. Let dry. No bubbles and once dry you can grab it with your nails. On the leading edges wait a little untill the future becomes sticky and then help the decals in place with your finger. Give it a try. If you haven't seen the series (unlucky souls, the lot of ya), the final episodes of the great dynasty are set in the trenches of WWI. One of the best of the set is where Capt. Blackadder (Rowan Atkinson - I like this series better than Mr. Bean as I have a thing for curmudgeons and schmucks) and his dogsbody Baldrick (Tony Robinson) join the RFC - the 'Twenty Minuters'. Of course they figure that this refers to the average amount of work per day that they are expected to do until the commander, Lord Flashheart (Rik Mayall) informs them that it is actually the average life expectancy of a new pilot. Well, I reckon y'all knew that anyway. Funny how a hilarious comedy's last episode can be so damned tragic.
