The only difference between this and the Nieuport edging is that it only ran on the lower wing for the Snipe so for the Nieuport you would have to do it on the upper and lower surfaces of the wings. Here's what I did: I cut thin strips of masking tape, so that they'd be flexible enough to go round the wing tips and masked all the perimeter of the wing where I wanted the painted edge to be. Then is just a question of painting. It's fairly simple to keep a straight line with a thin strip of masking tape so there's not much difficulty in this (hey, I managed to do it with very nice results...). It does take some time to lay all the masking in place and the curves are an exercise of patience, though. To inspire you if you're not done with yours or to drive you mad over what you missed if complete. By 2000, the Astros will be playing in the new downtown ballpark. And, so Dave Zulis won't be to upset over the loss of an old ballpark, they are keeping the Astrodome, primarily for the Rodeo - a huge annual event here. Yours truly is a prime example. ;-) As far as Mr. Stannard, listen to Al's suggestion and interview him. It is fascinating what they remember. One of my more memorable commissions was to build a 1/48th Jenny for a gentleman. His son brought over a photo of his father dated in June 1918. When I interviewed him, I learned he bought his first Jenny for $600 at the Army Depot surplus in a box. He took it home, put it together and flew it. He later went to be a wingwalker. At the end of his act he would jump from the wing and parachute to the ground. Using that info, his Jenny was mounted over an aerial photo of rural Fresno with a Monogram Se5a pilot sitting on the wing, waving to the crowd. He loved it. I strongly encourage you to talk with him. My client died just a few short years after the Jenny was completed. As long as the proposed West Coast BBQ is as far north as Bellingham, I might even make it (can't get by Seattle yet - no transponder in my magnificent flying machine.) Maybe one will turn up under the tree next Christmas so I can fly to Dallas in 2000... Alas, the D.H.10A didn't get finished by midnight, 31 December 1998 - maybe by midnight, 31 December 1999? I'm a left coaster. Where would be a good place to meet? The coast is beautiful but expensive. Fresno is cheap but we would die of boredom but it is in the middle of the state. Central coast sounds like a good place to me as I love the ocean. Suggestions anyone. This kit is a challenge. I find it difficult to work with the metal and plastic as a unit. It just doesn't feel right if that makes any sense. I will write up a complete report upon completion. I will photograph the kit and get on line as soon as possible. I have a scanner that is resisting my attempts to install it. First, the CD would not read the instructions. So, I had to replace the CD player. Now have a 32X. And while I was at it, the additional of memory seem logical. The nest Problem? Upon installing the scanner I get this message: "You are scanning at less than optimal speed. To maximize the scan speed please consult your computer system manual on how to access the system BIOS bo set the I/O to EPP mode." Question. Can someone tell me how to do that in terms I can understand? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many excellent replicas including Stark's DVII. Also a slice of brick pink fabric from you know who's Triplane. Hey Dave. Need a co-pilot? My best time Toronto to Dayton is 5 1/2 hrs. I've made Pensacola in 20 hrs. All with the help of my trusty Ford Escort and a glove compartment full of shoulder flashes to trade with the friendly State Highway Constables. I wonder what Kevin Barrett is doing in the spring of 2000?
