Of course their markings are commonly known but as my mother used to say: "never trust colour profiles". Actually I have following questions towards Rumey's Albatros: - were fuselage stripes really black an white? - how were they painted on the other side (spiral-like like in Jasta 4 or in opposite direction with chevron shaped joining on the spine and belly)? - what was the colour of the nose and spinner (grey? grey-green?) - what was the hue and brightness of Jasta 5 green tail (light or dark, apple or olive green)? And towards Gontermann's DV(a?): - what was the background colour of the fuselage (alluminium dope or silbergrau)? - how was fuselage mottling done (sponge mottles, brush mottles, wiper mottles or spray mottles)? Tom PS.: nb- still Eduard's SSW DIII. My God it's most diffcult model I have ever done. How have you managed to build it Joey??? ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 1 Dec 1998 01:54:32 -0800 From: Bob Pearson To: WW1 Mailing list Subject: December IM Message-ID: <09543228301815@KAIEN.COM> Greetings all, The new Internet Modeler is now up includes the following WW1 content. - Robert Karr's Copper State Fokker D.V - Chris Banyai-Riepl's Toko SSW D.III - SSW D.III profiles by yours truly Regards, Bob Pearson Visit my WW1 aviation page at http://www.kaien.com/~bpearson/Index.htm Managing Editor / Internet Modeler http://www.avsim.com/mike/awn/ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 1 Dec 1998 02:13:42 -0800 From: Bob Pearson To: WW1 Mailing list Subject: Re:December IM Message-ID: <10134220601829@KAIEN.COM> Forgot to mention that in order to view the contents, move the cursor overtop of the words Internet Modeler at the top of page Regards, Bob Pearson Visit my WW1 aviation page at http://www.kaien.com/~bpearson/Index.htm Managing Editor / Internet Modeler http://www.avsim.com/mike/awn/ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 1 Dec 1998 04:58:37 -0600 From: mbittner@juno.com (Matthew E Bittner) To: wwi@pease1.sr.unh.edu Subject: Re: December IM Message-ID: <19981201.045843.-864729.4.mbittner@juno.com> On Tue, 1 Dec 1998 05:10:49 -0500 (EST) Bob Pearson writes: >Forgot to mention that in order to view the contents, move the cursor >overtop of the words Internet Modeler at the top of page Oh, now I see this message. ;-) Great issue. Why does everyone seem to miss that the Toko SSW D.III wing is too narrow in chord? Hmmm... ;-) Great D.V, Robert! "I'm not worthy...I'm not worthy!" I have a question for an offline friend. He wants to know who makes the Corsair 02U-B or Curtis Falcon in 1/72 scale. He wants to do a diorama of the Sandino Revolution with one of these aircraft. I only had time to read the Fok DV article in depth, and gave the SSDIII only a few looks. Tomorrow I'll make time to read it well because a dismantled Udet's plane is waiting to take off from my table (among others). Even I'm a 1/72 modeler, I'll apply the tips for pilot figures on some of my projects, maybe drivers for the staff cars I plan to build. Fine job, Robert. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 02 Dec 1998 01:17:35 GMT From: lfendy@firstsaga.com (Leonard Endy) To: wwi@pease1.sr.unh.edu Subject: Re: December IM Message-ID: <366493cf.1780672@legend.firstsaga.com> On Tue, 1 Dec 1998 13:35:05 -0500 (EST), you wrote: >Great issue, congratulations. -snip- Have to agree. Now that I'm waiting on some lozenge to finish the Toko Pfalz I have food-for-thought for the Toko SSW along with some great looking profiles. Guess I can start the SSW while the lozenge finds it's way to me. Great looking stuff - Chris' SSW, Robert's Fokker, and Bob's profiles. On another note, I noticed in the Jan 99 issue of Model Railroader (my other time consumer) that ALPS has an ad for their line of printers specifically aimed at for use as decal printers. Someone in the corporate office was doing his/her homework.
