Couple the book with the Americal sheet, and you have everything you want to know about The Storks. I really hope local Borders or B&N get them in... My skills in this area are limited to a couple of picture frames with a dirty/grassy surface that I put my completed aircraft on to photograph. I got these figures to stand near my aircraft in photo's. I usually add a crate or a few bushes -- just rearrange things for each photo to make it a little more interesting. They are easily better than any figure I've received in a kit. The heavy flying suites show plenty of creases which need to be rounded over a little to remove sharpness and better represent a material look. Areas such as the overlap of the left and right of an overcoat are nice and sharp and look appropriate -- not simply a line scribed down the centre of the coat. Finer details such as buttons, moustaches, medals, lips and ears are all well formed. The RFC mech has a tool box which unfortunately doesn't have tools in it. The German Officer has a cane. Some care must be taken to remove the resin lugs. Not a lot of clean up needed before simple assembly of the few pieces per figure. WW I Aero?) that says that a museum in Italy has the nose from a Siemans Shuckert- spinner, cowl, engine, but that the identification has been wrong and it's actually from a Pfalz. In the local crafts store today with the wife and I was browsing in the model section when I saw the Glencoe WWI Sub Chaser in 1/74th scale. I know at least a couple of list members are interested in ships of our favorite era. On the I've got a question side I noticed an add in the latest SAMI for the Williams Bros kits. Included were the large Le Rhone rotary engine and the Lewis machine gun. Has Williams Bros put them back into production ? If so, does anyone know of a stateside source ? And on a final note....I finally got around to painting the w.29 and have the lozenge in place on the tailplane and rear deck. Getting antsy now that it's almost finished. Also sprayed the white/red hull markings on the Emhar Whippet and I am in the process of fitting the tracks. Robert's last masterpiece really provided the motivation I needed. Now to pull out that FT17 and start planning.
