The smallest bedroom is a shared hobby room. I have an old dinette table on the window wall so the spraypainting hood vent has a good run, all the plugs in the room were installed as quadraplex, so I can have the desk lamps (three) hood (two, one for the fan, one for the light) airbrush compressor, Dremel, assorted other chargers and tools, all handy. I have two dedicated sets of shelves on one wall, one set next to them for common supplies (craft sticks, oil paints, varnishes, craft paints, paper, palettes). Another set of shelves in the closet holds all of those models that are waiting to be built (yeah, right) and the top has all the board games and puzzles. My wife has a chest of drawers and a large desk, with multiplugs for her sewing machine and lamp. She has the other two walls of the closet for her supplies. The cats, to their dismay, are not allowed in the door -- though they do try to sneak in on the typical cat rule of no part of the house should be denied their presence. The kids, despite nominally being old enough to be safe for things, are not allowed in without permission. (if you saw their rooms, you would know why they were not allowed to introduce further entropy enriched rooms to the house). It works. The only problem was that the room was intended to be an oasis -- it is difficult to hear a phone ringing while in there and the room was built with no phone jacks, deliberately. Now that I do a lot of work out of the house, it would be nice to use free time without wondering if an important call was being missed. I guess I'll have to break down and get a remote phone or some such. -- This has been Mark and/or Mary Shannon at Shingend@ix.netcom.com History manages to get away with cliches no novelist could. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 25 Jul 1998 12:43:16 -0700 (PDT) From: Mike Fletcher To: Paul Bourke Subject: Re: Cya in a week .... This brought about the reply that there are some in photos and occasionally as a unit marking as well (Spa.87 for example). Anyway my question is has anyone done any feline marked aircraft - I did my Canuck as C.705 with the diagonal striped rudder/fin and the cat on the fuselage. Or the most bizarre marking used (with documentation, not fantasy). This brought about the reply that there are some in photos and occasionally as a unit marking as well (Spa.87 for example). I checked on pictures and original drawings of the bigger W.33, the elevator controls are not visible from the outside. Drawings support the arrangement shown in Juanita Franzi's ghost view in Air Enthisiast No.71 where a lever situated inside the fuselage move the elevator. So unless someone has pictures showing the W.29 to differ, then you don't need to add details except for hinges to the elevator. Till now I managed to get both wings off the mega flash (as Joey call = it) as well as the fuselage, which I believe is something to be proud = of, being my first. I Have to tell you though that I'll only be using = the upper sides of the wings since I did some pretty nasty things to the = lower sides while trying to figure out how to prepare them. Anyway, = since the upper side once cleaned and profiled look like they have the = correct thickness to expect on a WW1 model, I'll use them alone and = that's it. Now I'd appreciate if someone would tell me (or better send me a scan) = what the cockpit and gunner's position look like on the inside. I could = go for a total fantasy job here but if any of you knows what to add = inside both positions I'd love to hear about it. Let me just pass one thing I've learned: the kit's wings had all the = scalloping nicely formed and when I first tried to separate the lower = part of the wings (which I won't be using) I tried to score along the = scallops. Nothing could be more wrong. If you leave about 2 mm of = plastic after the scallops, when you sand the trailing edge to razor = blade thickness the plastic will naturally separate from the scallops = leaving them nicely and cleanly formed.=20 You Vac experts know this of course, but if any of you, like me, is = going to try it for the first time, this could be useful info. The small sketches they included are from a contemory puplication - possibly by Maurice Percheron. Mike Flecther ------------------------------ End of WWI Digest 1128 **********************
