Had to keep one hand free so they could talk." The logic is sound... E. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 17 May 1998 19:58:41 +1000 From: Shane Weier To: wwi Subject: RE: 7 swabians help? Message-ID: <16142273328393@KAIEN.COM> Greetings all, The cover of Windsock 11/1 has a colour picture from the 1914 edition of the Seven Swabians reprinted in 1927. There are also two silhouetted images. All three show slightly different shaped characters. However the colour image MAY have been the inspiration for Scheutzel's D.VII. The Windsock article also contains the story. I can scan the cover and two pages if anyone wants to see them. It's a post war picture of a Siemens Schuckert D.III fuselage on a rail car that appears to be headed toward the scrap heap. It has a very unique monogram on its side. Anybody who has the issue: could you help identify this aircraft? I'm not sure if it was identified in a later issue of OtF, and I really don't want to look through the rest of the volumes. Maybe Bob Pearson? TIA! Matt Bittner _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
