Thanks in advance for any help. Paul, I just spent about half an hour pouring over the Replicraft drawings for the triplane and was amazed. 6 large sheets researched from factory originals specing gauge and types of metal for all the fittings, and still no details of the harness. There is a lot of good solid wood in the area, but no indication of where the belts attach. As far as the drawings show, the seat is 16 and 20 gauge bullet proof steel, so I doubt that it was slotted for the belt to pass through, but beyond that, I can't offer much help. Message-ID: Greetings: wow, what a great idea! I like the lozenge fabric curtains, but I LOVE the t-shirt idea! How about bed sheets, while we're at it? BTW, since it's Friday afternoon, and since there was recently a discussion of Voss's tripe colors on this list: I met a guy at a local hobby shop recently, who began talking to me about WWI a/c. He had several interesting opinions. He insisted that Revel had originally released their 1/28 Fok.DVII kit back in the sixties, and that they had also had a Spad, a Nieuport, and an SE5 in this range. I suggested that he was misremembering, getting the 1/28 scale kits confused with Revel's 1/72 range of wwi kits, but he was adamant. He also told me that he had hand painted the lozenge pattern on his 1/28 Fokker Dr1 kit. When I inquired as to why he had done that, he asked if I'd ever heard of Werner Voss. When I replied that I had, he suggested that I visit the library and look up Voss's triplane. According to him, the craft had lozenge covered wings and a golden fuselage! Interesting scheme, isn't it? He was rather insistant about this, but he seemed like a nice guy otherwise. To each their own! When we got it in we had a rather lengthy discussion on the merits of having shirts or some shorts made out of the stuff for a trip to the IPMS USA Nationals. The idea was to substantially improve the visibility aspect for those interested in WW I subjects and to quell some of the "Is that the correct color lozenge" remarks you usually hear. Then we got over our mild case of insanity. After all $130.00 US for a shirt and a pair of shorts is just too much. Unless of course they were weatherproofed with the appropriate dope............ If not, try epoxy putty to fill it - you should be able to wipe off the excess and not have to do ANY sanding. One can even do the same thing using Testors Contour Putty (wiping with an alcohol-dampened rag), believe it or not! I'd also go with John's suggestion of removing the pins in the wings and running wires all the way through the fuselage. Steel wire cuts easily using a cut off wheel in a Moto Tool or similar.
