The first book in the German a/c series from FMP will be on the Pfalz machines, with AEG being the next manufactuter covered. Larger companies such as Albatros might require more than one volume each. Greg will be providing the color information while Alan Durkota does the actual artwork. In addition, Rimell is busy working on the Fokker D.VII special, with Greg lending a hand. This title should be out before year's end. I can't wait. In the meantime, Alex Imrie will be reviewing the recent Squadron D.VII offering in an upcoming Windsock--it's not going to be pretty . . .. It shows deTurrenne next to his coat of arms which is shown as red and gold. I realize 30's pulps aren't exactly the ultimate historical reference, but the illustration was done within fairly recent memory of the events and it is possible that it's source was firsthand. I even dabbled in those blasted 1/144 scale WWI metal models. I guess since we Mac folks simply plug our computers in and go, we have more time to build models and jump around from scale to scale! No darned confusing system set-ups and Eight hour installation sessions for this modeler! Cheers! Scott H --------------------------------------------------------------------- Scott M. It's a bit sparse on detail in the cockpit (replace totally for a really nice model), and the piping on mine was replaced with solder wire (easy to flex and bend into position. Also, the cowl is awful thick, but overall it's pretty decent. Have fun! Scott H --------------------------------------------------------------------- Scott M. Message-ID: <33ABECF5.4E18@ricochet.net> Got these in the mail from Mike, and they look pretty good. The blue on the roundels may be a tad light, and the death's head rudder panels are a bit large but overall very useable. Note that to make an ethnically Russian Nieuport one needs a Colt machine gun complete with awkward feed and collection chutes.
